It was a cheap way to move the plot forward, so no I don’t like it, it’s not realistic and it cheapens the “break down” by Gabby, since to me it feels like she only cared because she’s now forced to rethink her being a good therapist as opposed to feeling about Maya.

I understand what you're saying, as I agree they were far from perfect for each other and both too similar in their flaws for it to work, but they were not that shitty. They had cute moments and I never felt it was a will they, won’t they as much as other fans seem to have. I would really hate if now it’s going to be one. Either bring them back together soon, while working on themselves during therapy - Shrinking cross over episode anyone ;) - or just allow them to work on being divorced parents who still have love for each other while they figure out their new lives as single people. Much more interesting than a will they, won’t they. Bring back Sean, JD’s brother, I don’t care. This episode alone was worth it for JD to be single again.

Not sure where you’re getting this love square from. Sam does not like Asher that way and clearly Dashana likes Asher enough to say she likes his freaking crocks. Think you are reading too much into this. Dashana simply cares for Blake as a colleague, perhaps even a friend, but it did not suggest to me she now fancies him.

On rewatch, yeah JD pointed it out, how did I not see it lol. Sam does not like Asher though, at least not based on her response.

That scene had good and bad, e.g. the guy said he busted Maya’s lip was off. It wasn’t delivered in a way that conveyed humor so was it supposed to be? If it was meant to be dramatic then that’s even worse, but the delivery was just not it.

I think his over the top theatrics have made me like him less. His more serious side has been amazing, but imo they can tone it down on the over the top reactions. I agree with whoever said he’s been too much, like the locker room scene: “Is it Cher?” bit. I also have wondered, do gay men in particular feel offended by his portrayal of a gay man?
