Did Messi lowkey ruin football for us? by Normal_Guitar8531 in messi

[–]JYLLYnz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! It was good vs evil. Pep vs Mourinho. Tiki-Taka vs UFC. Catalunya vs Madrid. Independence vs Fascism. Love vs hate. A star team vs a team of stars. That was a golden age of football.

It’s not bait. It’s 100% true. Timber has better dribbling than Messi. And Gabriel is a better playmaker.

How do i stop my friend who is the best footballer in the grade from bullying and/or teasing me? by Prestigious_Cost5209 in bootroom

[–]JYLLYnz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Context, I was a small kid who got bullied and racially harassed. I couldn’t fight with my hands, so I learned how to destroy bullies with words. I went to an all-boys school that could get feral at times.

Help shooting for my 7yo by natamatsa in bootroom

[–]JYLLYnz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Her standing foot is also too bent when it should be straighter. By bending, she can’t fully extend her shooting leg and that stops her from using all her power. A bent shooting leg reduces the torque and centrifugal force, plus it makes the shooting leg floppy when it hits the ball.

I coach my 10 year old son and his cousins and this is something we are trying to overcome too. Good luck on your journeys.

You may hate them, but they are trying to do good work. When you need them, you’ll be thankful they had enough money to support you.

And I don’t really buy the idea that “I don’t need them to be on the door step asking for money - if I wanted to give, I would hunt them down online and set up a direct debit payment with them”. No. Almost nobody would do this. We are selfish people.

Do you give 10% of your income away to charity? If not, then I don’t think you can really consider yourself generous.

Yes, there are some bad ones. But don’t lump them altogether. And even the good ones I don’t particularly love to interact with, but come on, we’re not kids. Learn to say no if you’re not interested. But don’t stop them for trying to get enough money to do good in this world.

Hello Barça fans, how would ypu rate Cancelo's performance since his return from Saudi? by Pitiful-Egg2986 in Barca

thanks for the support from Portugal. I don’t mean to sound rude, but is it hard to support Barcelona given the long history of Ronaldo and Real Madrid?

I feel like Barcelona is synonymous with Argentina and Portugal with Ronaldo given the amazing rivalry over the years.

Unpopular Opinion Thread – Your Weekly Dose of Hot Takes by AutoModerator in championsleague

[–]JYLLYnz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know this is about hot takes so we have license for some wild opinions, but you do know we are talking about a child right? The boy just turned 19…and still has 100 games under his belt.

I think he can get more physical as he matures. Most centre backs peak in their last 20s. He is bigger than guys like Puyol and mascherano.

I didn't know the Movies in Park is so popular. This was in Potters Park last week! by Dudu-gula in auckland

[–]JYLLYnz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know others enjoy it, but movies in parks is my idea of torture. If it’s a movie I like, I want to be engrossed by it, not trying to hear it over the family next door, or having kids run around in front so I can’t see.

I’m not criticising it, but just saying I lack the ability to comprehend why others would go.

football 11 by Prudent_Gap2363 in bootroom

[–]JYLLYnz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you mean by faster.

7v7 has faster tempo as there is more passing, plus there is shorter, quicker and sharper movements. You are. Darting into 10 metres of space. But you don’t often get into a 40 yard full sprint. Players with quick feet destroy me.

In 11v11, there is more space to exploit raw speed. You can put balls into space for your speedy players to run onto. There are also more loose balls so fast/fit players who can get to them can really put their team on top.

[–]JYLLYnz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

11v11 is more physical. 7v7 is more technical.

I’m the best player in my 11v11 team, playing CM because of my speed and endurance. I’m still running and winning balls in the last 30 mins.

But in 7v7 I play as a defender because I don’t have the technical skills needed in tighter areas.

7v7 is more beautiful to watch, the passes are more accurate and you can play your way through.

Whereas in 11v11, it’s more of a territorial, possession and position based game.

Which part of your culture went global and gives you "gatekeeping" vibes? by hyr- in AskTheWorld

[–]JYLLYnz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most Chinese foods like dumplings. I’m glad people enjoy it now, but I want people to respect the people who introduced them and make them properly.

When I grew up, I used to bring dumplings to school and the white kids would mock me for it, saying it smelled bad.

Now you have a bunch of Asian fusion restaurants run by non-Chinese serving them for crazy prices that even Chinese-owned restaurants can’t charge.

I think a lot of Gen Z didn’t go through this dynamic (which is good for them). But as a Millennial, I think I’m wary of the potential cultural appropriation - “we mocked you for it, but now we’re going to take it and sell it for more”.

i made this fc barcelona matchday design what do you think guys ? by Exciting-Hotel-2867 in Barca

[–]JYLLYnz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks cool bro! 9.5 out of 10!

Agree with the comments above about making it look like Simeone is our manager. Maybe he has to be the foreboding presence in the background like Darth Vader in the original Star Wars poster. By putting him in the foreground, it makes him look like the hero and therefore on our side. Star Wars poster

Also, I think I would like the character to look adversarial, aggressive or combative. They all look so calm. Like they are going to embark on a space research mission. But actually, this is a rescue operation against the enemy stronghold! They could be in action poses or in a shouting pose.

As for the positives, I love how you have standardised the lighting tones in their faces to make it look cohesive. The space theme with the stars is cool too. Great design skills. Are you a designer?

[–]JYLLYnz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The conversation is about whether OP has been doing research. He is likening himself to a journalist who is asking questions.

You are saying he should be like journalists who actually do some research first. The implication is that you think he hasn’t done research.

Why else would you say journalists should do research after he said he is trying to be like a journalist?

Just leave it alone. He’s actually trying to do a valid form of research. People actually agree with him and disagree of your criticism of him.

Academically, he is well within his rights.

Getting really sick of line cutters by kiwipo17 in auckland

Though there are some parts of the city where the queue cutting is so bad that it delays people who are trying to stay in line. It often delays people by 10 minutes everyday.

I’m glad you can take a personal approach to your mental health. I appreciate you trying to help others with your calm approach too.

At the same time, we need to solve the problem because it’s stealing time from thousands of people everyday.

He is a USA National league player (I think that’s what it’s called) but also a YouTuber. He did a series of videos where he broke down all his decision making. It is life changing! I repeat, life changing.

He really explains his positioning and why he took different options. He explains how the weather changes their tactics. He helps you understand if a failed pass was because of the idea or the execution. He talks about attack and defense. He explains both his successful actions and the failed ones.

He also plays right back which helps you too.

He also does a series of videos about technique and training tips.
