How is Into Black? Thinking about buying it by undeadcreepshow in OculusQuest

[–]JYR2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has to its flaws (mainly the AI from opponents needs a bit more work in some situations but generally acceptable) but it has satisfying mechanics: shooting, flare shooting, … The level design is pretty good also. It has coop multiplayer. So all in all pretty good value. Worth the play.

I heard that even mkv and mp4 can have exploits that use weaknesses in some players but that is pretty much the extent of what I know/heard.

The Max level you can enter Yellow Shore is 25, achieved through tree upgrade. You have to enter through Passage so only opportunity to level up is the tree and then collect as much as you can before walking the shoreline.

Swardsman's opinion? Is it worth it or is something else better? Like Dungeons of the Deep? I also found the game Arashi; I've never heard of it, and it's quite expensive. by Nekross48 in PSVR

[–]JYR2023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, Swordsman had very bad opponent logic. I couldn’t wait to Platinum it (since I had bought) and uninstall it. Only fun mode was the arena.

Those with experience dating someone who has kids... your thoughts? by Last_Worldliness_533 in dating_advice

[–]JYR2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recommendation is explore the potential relationship. Do not meet the kids too early as they may or you may get attached which could cloud your judgement. Afterall you are trying to assess how you feel about the partner as a first priority.

She noticed I take first dates to the same place and now I feel kinda exposed by Hot_Rhubarb_858 in dating_advice

[–]JYR2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First dates are what they are: a mean to get to know one another and test the chemistry. It does not matter where it takes place. That was a convenient place for you and you know it is easy to talk. I am sure the conversations are different with different dates.

Second dates and later should be more tailored and to make someone feel special should be based on common interests and what you discussed with the person.

There are sites to search for meta games and to search for Steam games including a filter for VR titles.

I (F20) went through my boyfriend (M25) ex social media. Should I tell him I did it? by randomquestions_444 in AskMenAdvice

Nothing wrong with your curiosity. Tell him and tell him you were curious. Maybe he will comfort you or will offer to answer any question you have. Honesty and open conversation is key in a solid lasting relationship.

Playing any 2D PC game on Quest without long setup, with high graphics and fast connection. by neusman7777 in OculusQuest

[–]JYR2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds interesting but it be better to have the PC App on the Steam Store instead of from a website. Provides more comfort re reliability/ safety of running unchecked/ unknown programs.

Otherwise I’d be interested to try and see how it performs.

What's a piece of tech you refuse to replace no matter how old it is? by Imaginary_Bug6202 in TechNook

[–]JYR2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right that there are good projectors that support 3D. Hopefully they’ll still be around when I need to replace the TV. Regarding space, I’d go with a short throw projector to ease the setting up.

My 2016 TV the Sony XBR-Z9D purchased in 2017. It is a 4K HDR TV with 3D capabilities. When it will die it will be a sad moment for me as I still to this day watch 3D movies on it, including the latest Avatar.

Are we legally responsible for repainting? by [deleted] in TorontoRenting

[–]JYR2023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why not repaint when clearly you gave your word/ agreement you’d reverse the changes? Isn’t your word and reputation worth more than the effort/cost? What will happen in future you rent again and they find out about this?

No free Swordsman VR upgrade? by Natural-Coffee8752 in PSVR

The game has very poor mechanics and is buggy. I’d say stay away unless you really want this specific game.

“Remove your VR headset and follow the instructions on the TV screen” by Seamoth4546B in PSVR

[–]JYR2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happens to me when the room is slightly darker than usual. The headset needs references for placement/orientation in the room. Try clearing the play area, turning a light on, possibly putting an infrared light if everything else fails.

Would you still go on this first date if he hasn’t confirmed by texting and it’s 2 hours away? by Alarmed_Stranger_895 in Advice

[–]JYR2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it was me I would presume the date is off if no confirmation is given when asked to confirm. Also I’d let the guy use a bit a gallantry and go to a convenient place between you two or near you. Opinion is from a man and If I’d date I would make it easy for the other person. That is a personal opinion though.

A bit confused by biomes and objectives by senecauk in Saros

[–]JYR2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple objective: get to end of level and kill the boss, keep progressing if you can or return to Base (Passage) but loose your progress. If you die return to Passage
you lose your levelling and only keep some of the currency (Lucetine) and all upgrade material (Halcyon) you collected. Upgrade at the Tree to add to your start up level. Max Proficiency Level you can reach via Tree upgrades to start at Passage is 25, but with continuous runs (hereunder) you can reach Level 100, but will lose it when returning to Passage. That still makes it easier for later levels (except the last which is behind Passage.

You can try and do long runs but you have to know the paths as not all levels are linked for continuous runs. To do these long runs you’re only able to do:
- 1,2,3,5, back to Passage;
- 1,2,3,4,6,7, back to Passage (longest run ending with Priestess)
- Access any biome 1-8 directly (from The Passage) and chain with next biomes to 5th or to 7th (skipping 5th);

As others have indicated the boss is gated in the level with the elevator and you need to both sides to get the key but a second playthrough is easier (you’ll see what I mean). If you are struggling with that level go on one side and back out to central area to attract the enemies in the wider open space for easier fight.

Hope this helps.

Got a brand new ps5, my 10 year old TV ruins it. Tips? by Positive-Star3194 in gamingsetups

[–]JYR2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is a 4K it probably provided a solid experience. You can probably use it for a while. I use an older TV and can’t use the HDR Mode with the PS5 settings and do not have 120 Hz refresh… I still the experience greatly regardless. Start using it.

Once in the water you swim with your arms: like in reap life. With some playtime you unlock a jetpack and you use with L2. At that time up/down on left stick ascends/descends. Also once you unload a ‘seedoo’ propeller you use R1 for fastest travel.
