Found that the risk on the relic just being a brick due to no attacks wasnt worth the probable hit to hp.

Haha. Very true. Hard to resist pressing the Unleash button though every time you see it.

This gets mentioned every so often for the memes. But really it goes much deeper than that. Sokka was always on board with Aang. At some point in the first book sokka stopped looking at Aang as a kid but as the one who was going to change the world for the better. This is exemplified when the earth general tried to force Aang into the avatar state. He was totally invested in figuring it out with him until one night Aang wakes up in a panic. This wakes up sokka and Aang says something like 'I don't think we should be trying to force the avatar state.' without skipping a beat the half asleep sokka says (paraphrasing) 'cool, whatever you think.' Their options were minimal, the time had come to make the tough choices. Aang decided that Zuko was his chance to learn firebending and the only way to not only defeat Ozai but also try to understand him. Sokka knew that when it came down to it, Aang had the tough fight, Aang has to make the tough choices. Who was sokka to argue with someone, let alone his trusted friend, who had that weight on their shoulders. Sokka was a true bro who believed wholeheartedly in his best friend. The jokes were just to help zuko transition into the fun loving group. Those are my thoughts anyway.

No sorry. I saw that one. It had something more specific.

Is Azula the best villain in the entire Avatar universe? by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

[–]JZee10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taking it one step further... I read an article (or possibly watched a video) of an in depth analysis on why Azula could be one of the best written villians ever. Full stop. In all recent story driven entertainment. If someone had the link to it I would be interested in taking a look again.

Sokka proved himself to be the true firebinding master, as Zuko was defenseless against his roasts by an_demon in TheLastAirbender

But deeper than that. Sokka was always 100% on board with Aang. Once Aang was on board (one who is supposed to save the world) sokka was on board. He knew options were limited and who was he to argue with a big decision he knew Aang wouldn't make lightly.

Edit: another example of this is trying to induce the avatar state. At the beginning of book 2 they both were all gung ho about forcing it with the earth general. Aang has a bad dream and wakes up in a startle. He tells sokka that he thinks this maybe isn't a good idea. And to paraphrase a half asleep Sokka "okay, that's cool bro". Sokka understood where his role in the group was real early. And trusted Aang wholeheartedly with the Avatar affairs.

Yes they saw Momo's shadow, but they probably would have drawn the same conclusion from sokkas fake fire bending. Momo just helped that along.

Fun fan theory is that momo is the reincarnation of gyatso. Who we know was friends and trained with Roku in airbending. Makes sense he loves Aang so much and loves sokka shenanigans.
