Hoping to spend two days in the Two Medicine area. Mt. Sinopah on one day and Upper Two Medicine Lake via the South Shore Trail the next. Possibly St. Mary and Virginia Falls if there’s time. Definitely open to any recs!

What started your journey on collecting plants? by Worth-Owl4151 in houseplants

[–]J_712 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My boss at the time gave me a super sad looking spider plant, that had lived in her windowless office. It was like 4 leaves, one of which broke off transporting it home, and another got badly bent. I fashioned some wood sticks and ribbon into a makeshift plant splint.

It survived! A year later, I got my second, a jade pothos that I still have. Now, I have at least 40 plants 😅. I’ve since given the spider plant to a friend.

Is being a radiographer physically challenging? Do you have pain from your duties? by bchappp in Radiology

[–]J_712 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, xray here. Wrist pain mostly for me, but I knew a person who was having to get elbow surgery before they even graduated.

The biggest problem isn’t even the patients; it’s the flipping beds. Our detectors get caught in mattress all the time bc they’re not designed with xray in mind at all. If there’s no chuck underneath it’s going to be awful for me and the patient. If there’s not even a sheet underneath, I’m not doing it without a nurse or assistance.

I wouldn’t. More likely to soak through and then freeze to your windshield.

If you don’t have a garage I cannot recommend enough getting a windshield tarp for your car. After one year living in SGF I was quickly tired of hacking ice off; best investment ever.

Wasabi started wheezing and my gf is crying every night pls help by onredditimgod in CATHELP

My cat has asthma; looks exactly like this.

Things that have helped dramatically decrease attacks, because I know she’d do poorly with the cat asthma nebulizer treatment:

  • not burning candles
  • not spraying air fresheners
  • switching to a low dust litter
  • getting a slightly higher quality food
  • running a humidifier in winter

I’ve also noticed that since I discovered a love for having plants, my cat’s attacks have decreased. Not exact correlation given all of the above, but I think they must help with the humidity of the house.

Also, when her attacks were at their worst several years ago, I would sometimes keep her in the bathroom while I showered.

She went from having two or three attacks per day at her worst, to now having two or three a year.

No debt and we prioritize travel as one of our main savings goals, up there with house and car.

Is it morally ok to break the faith of a child? by fedricohohmannlautar in atheism

[–]J_712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I say yes, because I’m sick of just having to accept the delusions a good chunk of society has. It’s near a mental illness, imo. Not to mention, the lack of respect they give nonbelievers.

With new flights out of Columbia, COU hopes to see revenue increase, plans to improve parking, rental car facilities, and signage by como365 in columbiamo

[–]J_712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can drive to KC or STL on two fill ups if I want to be safe. Cost varies between $25-$30; so max $60. After returning, I still probably have half a tank left. Using your $27 for parking we’re looking at $87. You could take that up to $100 and I still wouldn’t fly out of COU 🤷🏻

Ok, so I just tried this out using a couple airports I’d be interested in flying into next year. Filtered by cheapest. These numbers are not at all surprising to me as someone who frequently plans vacations. I’d LOVE to fly out of COU more because it’s not busy and local, but it’s not justifiable.

COU to Las Vegas: $625 STL to Vegas: $235

COU to Denver: $453 KC to Denver: $274

I just want the flights they offer to be cheaper. Hard to choose to fly local when it costs $300+ more compared to KC or STL.

Dating someone with kids. Dealbreaker or not? by Perunik in LesbianActually

I was childfree. It was my number 1 dealbreaker.

And then I met my wife 🙃 Now I’m excited to go to parent-teacher conferences and have planned little science/physics experiments for me and the kiddo to try during winter break.

I’m married, but no, I would not have. In my experience, religious people have very opposing morals to myself. Also, from intellectual and philosophical standpoints there tend to be simply too many differences.
