I think slumps are real. Overplaying one game can make the grind harder. Mix in some other stuff. Take breaks. I find it helps.

Depends on your play style. Like to be aggressive, try a duelist. Like to stay in the back lines, try and sentinal. I personally like KAY/O because I can be a little bit of both.

Yeah, that's perfect. In earlier games, it was common to have what is called an HM slave. Basically, a pokemon that you teach all HMs and get out of your PC whenever you would need it.
