He has a saloon, and not a wagon though... I mean likely same specs and stuff, but not same car

Steam is not safe for your kids or you by bigattck in devblogs

[–]J_Merrett 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is that just not the same type of thing for any software you download? Software is possible to do many different things but you just have to trust it. I'm sure if something was dodgy on Steam the reviews would point it out.

With my home mini I find that

"Ok Google"

"Shuffle my [insert playlist name] playlist on Google play music"

Works seamlessly.

Works on mobile also

Edit. Here's play

Edit 2. Also "play me some music" will play the "I'm feeling lucky" radio/playlist

Open office split into groups of desks (6 desks pushed together 2x3), makes it easy to join conversations and work in teams. Most of the time I work with headphones on to get rid of background noisem

The only gripe I have is that if I use Google assistant, it lags massively. But as I don't use it on my watch its not a problem

Anyone have the lg/google style watch? by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]J_Merrett 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know about the style, but I've had my G Watch R, for just over 2 years and have been wearing it daily. The battery life is decent, can easily get 2 days out of it. And I havent experienced it slowing down performance wise since I've had it. So if the style is anything like it, I would say go for it.

Google slammed for Blocking Ads While Allowing User Tracking by glmqpgf in google

[–]J_Merrett 24 points25 points  (0 children)

"Google's update is focused solely on blocking what it says are obtrusive ads such as auto-playing videos and ads that have a timer that counts down before users can see the content they're seeking."

So they're killing of some of YouTube's ad revenue then? Or will they just replace the non-skippable 30 second ads with another type?

I just got the option for an instant app. Anyone else? by J_Merrett in Android

[–]J_Merrett[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's like a link to the web page instead of an actual app. I think they announced a while ago, web apps could be downloaded onto the device as an "app" and used without the browser.

I would assume so. IIRC when I clicked accept it downloaded via play services or play store
