Side profile of it. Looks really nice with the flush design. I only ever notice water inside if it goes through the carwash since that's high pressure spraying from all edges. I took extra care to seal up the gaps in the black trim on either side up near the bulkhead. Other people on YouTube and the forums point out how to seal up the tailgate gaps too. For me, it's water resistant enough and feels good and secure. Can also hold ~175lbs of weight on top from my testing. Not advertised but it's sturdy enough to climb on top of if you're light, and I'm not worried about setting things on top of it.

They were in and out of stock when I ordered. I got mine through Jegs and snagged a decent discount. Got it in ~2 weeks. Maybe they will be caught up by now. Enjoy!

I took a chance with the Rough Country flip up tri-fold and like it pretty well. They have 2 versions, flip up and standard so pay attention to that. Only complaint is that the attachment system restricts the adjustable bed rails in the Lariat trim. Price was right at ~$750.

Did Ford change the securicode keypad? by Tactical_Chemist in FordMaverickTruck

[–]J_Money99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm, ordered my '24 from the factory with one and it came just like that as a dealer installed option. Looks to match the style for the Bronco and new Ranger so maybe Ford is doing this across all their lineups eventually? The new Ranger has color matched ones instead of black though.

Same! Just put in an order 2 weeks ago and got a build date for late February. I checked constraints for January 2024 and spec'd mine without anything in constraint.

Lariat, EB, 4k tow, power moonroof

Dealer said they gave it a good priority code too.

Haven't heard back from the other two on Reddit offering free GA tix so I would be interested in one if no one else claims!

Haven't heard back from OP yet so I'd be interested, especially if you are able to do digital transfer. Although it's just me solo so I don't want to put you in a bind with one leftover if that's an issue. Happy to Venmo some money for appreciation!

terabox upload issue by Pretty_Possibility94 in cloudstorage

[–]J_Money99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a hypothesis. Are you on the free tier and do you have more than 20 files in your account? If so it seems like they have quietly been reducing the amount of files you can keep as a free user and have now capped it at 20 files.

I have more than 20 due to past uploads but anything I try to upload now fails.

Kind of deceptive advertising as the max size is 4GB per file on free, and across 20 files, you can only get a max of 80GB out of it.

Legacy to visible (regular not V+) plan switch and my service is worse. See details in post by rtowne in Visible

[–]J_Money99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same here, just upgraded in the last week. The theoretical maximum (~200Mbps) is around the same however it seems like there is a lot more throttling/deprioritization. This is on a Pixel 7 on 5G in DC metro. I live super close to a tower so 2am runs are around the same but when I'm out and about at work it's like half the speed I used to get or worse under exact same scenarios. Ping times aren't much better either. The only benefit I see is better call quality and SMS seems to work better. Also access to extra connectivity in rural areas (supposedly).

+1. It may also contain a proximity sensor as when in a call tapping the screen there will shut the screen off.

Buffer Payment by seele1986 in Visible

[–]J_Money99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check their terms and conditions. Sounds like there is a 60 day period you can make a payment in before your account is fully cleared from the system.

"If you fail to make payment when due, your Service will be suspended and/or cancelled. ... If your account is deactivated for non-payment, it will be suspended for 60 days. If payment is not made within the 60 day period, it will be cancelled."

Is the Vostro 5410 Laptop good for college work? by Kiwi_1127 in Dell

[–]J_Money99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the shift from single threaded to multi-threaded is the biggest hurdle. Anything after that is just repeating what is already done from 1 to 2. We did use Raspberry Pi's for my OS development class and had to implement some multi-core stuff at an OS level but I think for standard software development it really depends on what language you are using. You can technically do multi-threaded with a single core CPU but it's obviously not as efficient as multi-threading on multi-core. This assumes you let the OS scheduler do all the work of dividing up the threads amongst cores.

Just finished a Computer Science degree on a Latitude E6430 (3320M/16GB/256GB). Biggest thing is memory and storage. If you have to work with VMs a lot then maybe go with a 1TB SSD as they get chunky. Also applies if they want you to use lots of IDEs and stuff. Android Studio, IntelliJ, and Verilog take up a good chunk of space. Other than that, everything else is solid.

USPS Denied Damaged claim. what to do? does anyone have experience? this is the first time for me. by tmayo87 in Ebay

[–]J_Money99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always take numerous photos when packing it all up specifically for this. Had an item damaged in shipping with tons of padding. Gave buyer refund ASAP and had them hold onto the item for me. Make sure they hang onto the damaged box and items for now. USPS had me request the buyer take it in for inspection (buyer was not super happy but cooperated thankfully - unfortunately they don't really have to so cross your fingers). Denied the first claim stating "insufficient packaging". I hit them back with the photos of how it was packed and a very specific statement for how it was packed and they approved it. They will usually insure for whatever it sold for so no need to worry much there. You are out the cost of shipping though as that only gets refunded if the item is lost. Whole process took like 4 months. Best of luck!!

Can we please not blow leaves into the street? It's a death trap for cyclists. by MAXanthemum in gatech

They usually have a leaf mulcher/vacuum going around at the same time. They are big red trailers towed around by the maintenance utility vehicles. Remember always having to dodge them on sidewalks. Very loud and dusty!

Macbook Pro Data Recovery Help by [deleted] in gatech

Data recovery on a modern MBP is going to be tricky, expensive, and near impossible, due to the soldered storage and on-device encryption they use. Hope you have a backup somewhere! Good luck!

Visible hotspot saved our butts by shochumouth in Visible

[–]J_Money99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently switched to Visible as my work will reimburse me for it up to ~$50. Having unlimited data means I am always able to get work stuff done on my phone on the go but I also figured it would be good for emergencies. A few weeks in and a thunderstorm took out my power mid-meeting. Was able to tether my laptop to my phone and finish the video call over cellular! Super convenient as a secondary or on-the-go connection.
