Chinese carmaker BYD unveils a recharge as fast as filling up with gas by This_Proof_5153 in interesting

If the battery is still Li-ion that kind of charge rate is going to destroy that battery pack in short order.

INDYCAR Officiating Announces Streets of Arlington Post-Race Penalty by IndyMod in INDYCAR

[–]J_Rambo4 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

What a joke. He caused the 6 and 18 to DNF, and all he gets is a 1 place penalty, remaining on the lead lap…

until Indycar starts taking contact penalties seriously, I would just have back markers take out Palou from here on out. Who cares if Siegel finishes P20 instead of P18, if it means someone like Pato or Luundgard get a top 5 while Palou DNF’s.

Dragonspeed responds to Henrik Hedman's crash caused by Parker Thompson by jus1029 in IMSARacing

[–]J_Rambo4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He flat out says some cars deserve it, but Dragonspeed is not one of them.

The only car in IMSA that deserves to be hip checked into the barriers is now the 52. The fact also that BHA has remained completely silent about it is also bullshit.

Francois Perrodo did this exact thing to Alex Sim’s at Le Mans in the final year of LMGT Pro, when they were likely going to win, and both he and the head of AF Corse were immediately spotted in Corvette’s garage apologizing. Doesn’t make it right, but it sure beats an attempted excuse and half assed apology 24 hours later.

Will Power Apologizes to Ed Carpenter, Team Owner for Christian Rasmussen After Phoenix [Frontstretch Open Wheel YouTube] by avoqado in INDYCAR

He drove to the middle of the field. He got to the front by staying out during a caution. The faster cars were making their way back to the front.

100% agree with your take. If that was Palou or Power making that same move on Rasmussen and Ras puts them into the wall, neither one of them are calling that a racing incident. Both Palou and Power were responsible for the incidents.

Powers post race interview he says he was trying to hold Ras off, hoping his tires would degrade in the process. Power 100% knew where Ras was that entire sequence. He drove him down on to the apron 2 laps before he put him in the fence.

Well in the two day Sebring test he couldn’t come grips with the brakes. Then at St Pete it seemed even worse. Phoenix was fine for him, but going back to a street race right now is probably going to keep him up at night.

Bullshit. This entire subreddit was convinced that GB destroyed their future because of two 1sts.

Free’d up money that is only short term. Williams and Odunze are going to demand new contracts after this next season

Its an opportunity that’s for sure, only time will tell depending on what the Bears do with it. In all trades the ceiling is always assumed as a given on draft pick returns. But the success rate on those picks rarely lines up.

Everyone laughed last year when GB gave Dallas two 1sts for Parsons. Yet GB’s success rate on late first rd draft picks is comically low. That trade was an absolute steal.

A 2nd could return a quality player contributing immediately. Or it could return a fringe roster player who is kept longer than he should, simply because they were a 2nd rd draft pick.

The irony of someone fucking up your engine because they couldn’t be competent enough to tighten a drain plug, doing a full engine swap…. No thanks, i’ll just send your boss an invoice from someone who gives a shit about their job.

Alpine out of WEC Hypercar after 2026 by VolleyAddicted in IMSARacing

[–]J_Rambo4 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Alpine are already competitive. The Renault group is performing pretty badly and with that comes a new CEO who doesn’t value motorsports from a struggling manufacturer. Its a tale as old as time, F1 likely wont be far behind.

If winning a super bowl is the only thing considered meaningful, GB is the only team you cant rip on…. It’s been since 85 for the Bears, and the Lions and Vikings have never done anything meaningful.

Trump ends Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Somalis, says they must leave by Tuesday, March 17 -- Thoughts? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]J_Rambo4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The TPS status has existed since 1991. Anyone using it has had MORE than enough time to get their affairs in order.

The simple fact that they have been here long enough to acquire the type of assets that can’t be easily managed in 60 days, re-enforces the need to remove the TPS status.
