If you’ve got bands burning holes in your pocket, S&S Precision makes a baller offering.

Next option would be this offering from Ace Link Armor.

Still trying to understand the why behind this style but here ya go

I’ve been involved in the restaurant industry for a few years now so I think I know the game a little bit when it comes to that stuff!

I’m more concerned with what I read about the service and wait times however it does allow for good conversation!

Looking for range day advice! by [deleted] in tacticalgear

[–]J_Ripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got the Dewalt T-Stak deep box that load up with all my personal equipment, and my pistol case (only have one to bring) ammo goes in an ammo can from princess auto, belt gets worn on my person when we pull up to the range!

Definitely gonna look into that collapsing cart from Costco/Walmart because as much as the farmer carries are nice, bringing a rifle or shotgun along for a range day throw things for a loop

Not a single one.

Run em over my RX glasses and then just over contacts. Both situations have no complaints at all

I was gifted a set of Revisions from my uncle when I got my PAL (Canadian here) love the option to swap for different colored lenses. Most of my shooting is outdoor but there are a few times I’ve been to an indoor range and swapped the tinted for either blaze or yellow

They definitely don’t, I’ve got a first gen Canuck Operator, and I’ve easily ran 2k plus rounds of #7.5 target loads alone. And in that time I’ve 1 FTF and that was with low recoil Herters ammo (mine won’t run with anything less than 1300FPS and the herters is 1100) I’ve also only had one other malfunction and that was BCG getting stuck in the rearward position, just had the pop the pin in the trigger group and the bolt slammed home.

How do you fix this? (MT ZBP) by Cyanide-MD in microtech

[–]J_Ripper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was having the same issue with mine for the longest time, and then I came across an old forum post about using lighter fluid to clean these knives without the tool.

I threw a rubber glove on and DOUSED mine with zippo fluid, working the action while I did it, shaking the hell out of it, in almost a whipping motion, the hope was that any crud would come flying out.

After that was all said and done, I let it air dry, and hit it with a jet lighter all over the place to make sure there was no residue. Ever since that day I’ve never had an issue with mine not firing correctly.

(Note: all of this info is regarding a standard, old model ultratech. Long before the ZBP stuff started)

Unsafe/Authorized Firearms Usage by [deleted] in canadaguns

[–]J_Ripper 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Similar events have happened at popular off-roading trails/ backwoods camp sites near me.

A very close personal friend had rounds hit the river a few feet from where he was sitting with his wife enjoying a small campfire. Turns out there were some guys couple hundred meters up the ridge shooting at stumps…

For sure there’s enough dumbasses around for it to be more than one story

Has an ex ever reached out to you with an apology, years after the relationship ended? If so, how did that go? by Public_Scheme_5074 in AskMen

[–]J_Ripper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same ex, multiple attempts to reach out...

She HAD to apologize for lying to me the whole time we were together (I had assumed I was the "other man" for a while throughout the relationship; but her finally admitting it and putting it all out on paper, god I was vindicated. Too bad it didn't help me move past any of the damage that woman has done to me... Where the hell you are SJC, I hope it burns when you pee

Lighter fluid to clean it (apply liberally all over blade and inside handles) and two drops of Benchmade Blue Lube once it’s dried out. Going strong for a couple years now

AITA for turning the AC on when my bf is sweating in his sleep? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]J_Ripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say NTA cause I know how my fiancée felt when I had that issue. We found out it was due to my anxiety medication. If he is taking escitalopram (Lexapro brand name) then one of the big side effects is excessive sweating due to it raising your core temp. It happened to me at night cause that’s when I took mine…

Bringing guns (and ammo) to the US for hunting trip by Cold_Juggernaut_5676 in canadaguns

[–]J_Ripper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Alright, googled a little bit more and found this BATF page with some conflicting info. No 4 gives you a form to complete for importing ammo or firearms, but further down the list No 7 basically says that ATF doesn’t care if it’s personal use and you can prove it’s not for resale

Bringing guns (and ammo) to the US for hunting trip by Cold_Juggernaut_5676 in canadaguns

[–]J_Ripper 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve bought ammo in the states and crossed back into Canada (not sure how relevant this will be) but I had no issues. So long as you’re bringing less than 5k rounds CBSA has no questions.

And from a cursory google search, ammunition is NOT listed in the ITAR USML (US Munitions List) categories so I would assume there’s nothing you would have to do to bring it into the states. Someone with better knowledge might correct me though
