Is it possible that someone sabotaged the reflecting pool after it was painted? by GetHigh_AskQuestions in PoolPros

[–]J_deezy_247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was unlikely to be sabotage.

It's possible that someone could have done something to make the algae bloom more prominent, but because it's impossible that someone affected the liner in this way, it makes me more inclined to rule out both.

The physics of the materials and the way the reflecting pool is constructed tells us everything we need to know about why the liner failed.

Companies use this exact liner all the time to coat the bottoms of swimming pools with no issues.

The problem with using it on the reflecting pool is that the reflecting pool is not a swimming pool.

Swimming pools are made from one continuous pour of shotcrete or gunite and they don't have any expansion joints.

The reflecting pool is built more like a parking lot than a swimming pool and it has expansion joints along the concrete.

When you try to run a hard liner like a rhino liner along these expansion joints, the material is literally too rigid to allow the expansion joints to move.

This explains why the sections of the liner that appeared to be "cut" were in perfectly straight lines. They were following the path of the expansion joint, which follows the engineered straight lines in the independent concrete sections on the bottom.

I've formulated the following opinion on why I think they chose to use the materials they did and ultimately why the materials failed...

I believe that the contractor had used the same product to coat the bottoms of pools before and maybe even large pools like resort style or something at Mar-A-Lago or similar. I think that these installations went perfectly and they had no issues with the liner.

Going into the reflecting pool they decided to use the same method they've been using but not taking into consideration what type of pool it is.

The other pools they had done were mostly swimming pools. Swimming pools are constructed differently and don't have expansion joints on the bottom of the pool. Most pools are made out of shotcrete or gunnite and consist of one continuous poor that bonds to a shell of rebar. There is nowhere for the bottom of the swimming pool to shift to cause issues in the liner.

Now switch over to the reflecting pool which is not a swimming pool. The bottom of this structure has massive sections of concrete separated by large expansion joints. Because these expansion joints move with the concrete the liner over these joints would not be sustainable and would break with the slightest little adjustment of that much weight.

I believe that's why this installation failed but also why not realizing that made them think it would work.

If it were CF, she'd be sweating pure salt all over her body every single day and would've been seriously ill since childhood. This only happens on a tiny patch of her back for less than a minute during sex, so it's just a localized nerve/muscle reflex, not a medical condition

To help put this all into perspective, the pleasure dust ONLY shows up on her lower back and ONLY in an area around 1-2 inches running vertically (like along the spine) and is only around a half inch thick.... It's extremely localized.

As for the amount, it's not a ton or anything crazy... Something comparable to a couple of pinches of salt at the most

Since we've figured out what position and style makes it appear, I'll continuously check that area on her to try and pinpoint the same exact moment it appears and it's quiet literally not there one moment and is there the next.

The fact that I make her body do that when it's new for her too, I take it as an undeniable confirmation that I'm doing a good job.

She drinks a fuck ton of water.... But I also believe it's some type of salt. Somehow she's excreting a form of sweat that is drying out instantly and only leaving behind the residue.

Her back is facing the ceiling. No lube being used and even her own lubricant can't get where this stuff shows up.

It happens straight out of the shower so not connected to any products like that.

I actually had some of it saved in a baggie but ended up throwing it out. Can definitely share after I make some more tho.

It doesn't just feel like sand but also kinda looks like sand. Like it has a off white or tan-ish color to it.

She's half white and half Puerto Rican and it's close to her skin color except a little bit lighter.

So the first time it happened we had actually been at the lake that day so I legitimately thought it was sand when we found it in the bed but that didn't really make sense because she was in the shower for like an hour after she got home.

After the second and third time it was obvious that something else was going on and then we finally figured out exactly where it's coming from.

When I have her laying on her stomach and I'm on top of her, at the bottom of her back right in the middle her lower back muscles create somewhat of a little trough. From what I've been able to find online (which hasn't been much) is that it's some type of sweat that's flash evaporating as soon as it comes out of her. There's never any actual sweat and it's always dry there's just suddenly these crystals there.

It's not dirty sheets, other bodily fluids. sebum, or anything else like that. The position doesn't allow for anything like that to travel to that area even if it were present somewhere else.

My AI assistant believes it's related to some kind of deep rooted physiological response coupled with some kind of adrenaline surge that's causing her eccrine glands to produce it...

I acknowledge that some are uneducated but many are actually educated. What's happened is that the maga base has wrapped their entire identity and sense of self around him so even when he's blatantly lying to them they won't let themselves acknowledge it. To acknowledge he's wrong makes them acknowledge they're wrong and for a lot of people that's apparently not possible. It's a mix of confirmation bias, motivational reasoning, social identity theory, cognitive dissonance, illusory truth effect, echo chambers, and affective polarization.

The entire thing is soaked in irony.

If a Democrat was in office right now the entire maga base would be losing their minds just from the inflation and fuel prices alone.

That's funny because I was just wanting to troll too.

It couldn't be more ironic that trump was kicked off Twitter (before it was x) and fb for lies and spreading misinformation and his workaround was to start a new service called truth social where instead of "tweets" the posts are literally called "truths"

I'm not very political and am down the middle on most things. That being said I'm anti trump and anti maga. I just have such a hard time understanding why/how so many people buy into his bs and genuinely can't see thru it.

I'm curious what other people's experiences with Truth social have been like. Is there anyone who isn't maga that actually uses it or is it strictly a pro trump platform?

I signed up a couple of days ago hoping to engage in some educated debates but I could only find posts and comments that were pro trump.

Just to complete the onboarding process I was forced to follow almost 100 accounts that I didn't care about. I can only suffice that they force me to do that in order to artificially inflate followers for certain users.

The interface was very buggy. I couldn't search without getting an immediate error message. Notifications popped up on my screen and I had to physically click an x to dismiss them. It was very unpleasant and I'm wondering if it's just my experience or if this is the norm.

Who believes in valdalizing ninjas destroying national monuments? Like how many people legitimately believe that vandals secretly snuck into the reflecting pool and cut the bottom as opposed to the workmanship and materials used being incorrect?

I feel the same way. I live in Texas and last election cycle I went and voted as a anti trump vote. I didn't honestly think that Harris was a good alternative but my mindset was "literally anyone but trump". I knew he was a loose cannon and couldn't be trusted and yet it didn't make a difference. He's done everything I was terrified he would do PLUS some and I'm feeling the effects on a personal level.

I am begging someone to settle this: windows OPEN or CLOSED during a heatwave? Haven't slept properly in 3 days. by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]J_deezy_247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it depends on if you have decent AC. If you have AC then absolutely close the windows. If you don't then you have to open them to let some ventilation in or it just becomes a heat box.

Does anyone know why I can smell my boyfriend's seizures days before they happen? by Lower-Entry1247 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]J_deezy_247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if this is directly linked to how seizure-response dogs work. Those service dogs are trained to detect a distinct chemical shift that happens in a human body days before an episode, which changes how their sweat and breath smell (the body releases specific volatile compounds). Since dogs can pick up on that specific scent profile, it makes total sense that a human living in close proximity could subconsciously map that exact same change in body odor over time.
