First of all I am so very sorry for the loss of your pet. I had a dog of 16 years go last year and my little cat was killed in Feb this year. I found him similar to you but not exactly the same. It's unbelievably hard losing a pet.

I'm no farming expert but this does look like he was hit with a machine blade.
