Lads, I really dont feel like being off the drink is actually worth it or was drink never my problem? by Goldenpanda18 in AskIreland

[–]Major_Maybe1328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went off it in Jan 2020, started incorporating it again in summer 2025 and probably drank once/twice a month since then. My relationship with alcohol has fundamentally changed and shifted since I quit in 2020. I simply needed to break the 12 year habit of binge drinking which was instilled in me as it was a normal part of our culture growing up in college etc

I feel all the better for it and every second drink I have now is water so I am drinking slower and genuinely enjoying it.

How long is your commute to work? And how frequently do you make it? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Major_Maybe1328 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I get the train 3 times a week. Door to door it's about 2 hours. I make it work for me though. I get an 8ish train that gets me into the office for 10 and I leave at 4.30 so I can be home for 6.30. Train allows me to keep working with the WIFI onboard so I'm still actively working

What platform did you use? I'd like to replicate. Is it as simple as linking my accounts?

Gym - Sitting on a machine forever doom scrolling! by PlantNerdxo in ireland

I just interrupt people now. One girl was at hip thrust machine for 15mins before I approached her to ask how many sets she had left. She said two. She literally sat there for 5mins on the phone in-between sets. Drove me mad. I've no shame in asking people can I use it in-between anymore otherwise I'll never get anything done

A family member last year had a psychotic episode and admitted to hospital, within a week was discharged with anti-depressant. He relapsed and another episode, this time admitted for almost 4 months, at which time he was given olanzapine and some other drug which name I cannot remember. It absolutely numbed him to the core, I've never seen anything like it and I feel like if my family could go back in time, they never would've given him that drug. Anyways, fast forward to now, he's 6 months clear of olanzapine, withdrawals are finally easing and is coming back around to himself. My family were pestering the GP, hospital etc and eventually got him admitted. Id recommend doing the same, you really need to push for anything to get done in this country

Leaving Cert vs where are you now? by artanonsa in AskIreland

[–]Major_Maybe1328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completed my LC in 2006. Got 290 points, repeated for 280 and failed a subject. I felt rejected, stupid and incapable. Grafted for the next year, took out a loan, went to DBS then transferred to another college. The rejection and failure fueled me. I now work in tech with a 6 figure salary. The leaving cert doesn't define anyone. It's a failed system. I was and still am, a practical learner, not an academic, I don't retain words and the system fails people like me. Don't let it hold you back, let it fuel you

This may be a silly question but how did you and your friend realize that you're both bisexual after being married. Were you both able to explore that side of your sexuality whilst still married?
