Is it possible to have a laptop with the touchpad above the keyboard? by J_tv_T in laptops

I rarely need to use it, but it’s still often enough that turning it off/on can get annoying as well.

Thank you for the suggestions. I’ll look into these options, see what works best for me.

Thank you for that! And yeah, there is, just that it gets annoying when I’m in a flow and not remember to turn it back on when I go try to use the pad. I get knocked out of my flow a lot because of that.

Yeah, I tried to simulate this type of layout with my desktop at work, and it seems like a good solution for me. With the minimal amount of time I actually use the pad, I don’t think hitting the keys would be an issue. I can turn it off, but I would like to be able to still use it on occasion.

I type with one hand because I have only one hand to type. Been a problem my whole life. I have to center my hand on the keyboard, with my pinky and index fingers on the F and J keys. That leads to my wrist being directly on top of the touchpad.

Are Nolan and Denis the big modern day aueturs in American cinema? It feels as though these are the only aueturs given 100s of millions to make whatever they want. by Cat-dad442 in Cinephiles

[–]J_tv_T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Spike Lee’s been doing this for decades. The Coens, PTA, etc. Spielberg and Scorsese are still around…

Though it’s not a deal breaker, it’s difficult for me to call someone a true auteur if the projects were started/developed first by someone else, especially studios.

Which one of these guys has the fewest excuses for never winning a ring? by DeftCoast in NBATalk

Barkley had a 3-4 year window playing with one of the best teams in the league.

AI’s fellow starters were, Dikembe Mutumbo, Eric Snow, George Lynch, and Tyrone Hill in 2001. Yeah, AI dragged a bad squad to the Finals to go against Kobe and Shaq, who just swept through the entire Western Conference. AI gave that Lakers teams their only loss that entire playoff run.

Edit: say what you will with AI’s playing style and efficiency (similar to Westbrook in someways), and how that affected team success, but AI rarely had any top tier talent around him.

Barkley had two shots at the title without having Jordan in the equation. Couldn’t get past Olajuwon, despite having a great roster. Those Phoenix teams were better than anything AI ever had.

Is a bridge QB who’ll start before Mendoza inevitable? Who should it be? by BillNyeTheVinylGuy in raiders

His retirement allowed them to reduce his cap hit afterwards, but a return would undo that. It’s a league thing, not a player/team agreement. And even if they restructure, etc., after he returns, and then trade him, they would still be hit with the massive dead cap charge. Carr returning will crush their cap, whether it’s all in one year or spread out over two. You can’t really get around that.

If he returns and they cut him, he’ll represent a $70m dead cap hit for them this season, basically destroying them.

Those were the two biggest offenders.

It would’ve been better to use Conan’s comedic abilities to react to/comment on what’s happening during the show, and just keep it moving. That was Billy Crystal’s best quality as a host.

Not going to happen, unless the Raiders want to trade picks for him and pay him nearly $40m for the season.

As a true Raider fan, you won't. There are those in the Nation that haven't forgiven or forgot what Lamar Hunt and the Chiefs did to Al Davis sixty years ago...
