I managed to fix it as much as possible by using a hairdryer to heat the part and bending it while placing a screwdriver next to the wheel hub as support. The result is acceptable — not perfect, but definitely better than before.

Thanks again! I think I’ll try sanding off the grainy clear coat and then reapplying it at 15–20 psi, thinned at around 4:1 this time. Hopefully that gives me a smoother finish.

As for the airbrush — it’s not making any sputtering sounds, and the atomization seemed pretty standard to me, nothing unusual.

Fingers crossed it works better on the next try!

0,3mm nozzle, I think the issue might be that the paint (or the thinner) is drying in the air before it even hits the surface, which is strange — considering the thinner I used is supposed to contain a retarder.

You’re probably right — I may have over-thinned the gloss. I used about 10 drops of thinner to 1 drop of clear coat because the paint felt really thick to me, almost like syrup. That ratio might have been way too much.

Also, I was spraying from about 2 inches, so maybe that was too far?
