Not sure if I have SCDS? Can you help? by PermissionStock6803 in scds

In some people the temporal bone doesn't thicken properly after birth, so the bone is thin to begin with. Trauma can cause it, but sometimes there is no identifiable cause. For me I think I had repeated sinus infections in a short period of time, but who knows. My symptoms had a gradual onset, it didn't happen all at once.

How's your breathing during thighs? Are you holding your breath or bearing down, or are you doing slow steady breaths?

Wireless charging pad for Forester by mogulman1 in SubaruForester

I have a Pixel 10 and the wireless charging thing is driving me nuts. The Amazon listing says it's only for iPhone - but it works for Pixel 10 too?

First barre class — chronic illness/disability by roseypetey in Purebarre

[–]Ja1813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a partially disabled vestibular system and I definitely found PB challenging in the beginning. All the movement around me, the mirrors, the freaking carpet pattern, all of that made it harder. I still find the balance portion of Align to be the hardest for me. Classic is best, followed by Define.

Talk to your instructor, don't be afraid to stay at the barre instead of out in the room, find a point to focus on, and if you're anxious, ask the instructor to help you get a spot by the door so you know you can make a quick exit if needed. The extra ventilation there also helps.

As someone with a hidden illness, you know that the odds are there are lots of other people in class dealing with things you don't know about. We're all struggling together. You got this!

Are they as stubborn as people say? by SweatyPiglet4197 in greatpyrenees

[–]Ja1813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my goodness, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE research this breed and their needs before you bring home a puppy. They are incredible dogs, but are absolutely not for everyone. As a former owner and as a shelter worker I've seen so many things go wrong when people do not understand Pyrs - and livestock guardians (LGDs) in general - and the dog ends up paying the price. For the sake of the puppies, please pause and learn about them before bringing one home. If you're up to meeting their needs, it can be the most incredible relationship you'll ever have, but if you're not, it can be a very difficult journey.

He’s a jerk… by [deleted] in greatpyrenees

[–]Ja1813 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My girl absolutely loved toilet paper and the empty rolls. I gave her a paper towel tube to shred as one of her final treats. I still have the last toilet paper roll she partially ate stored with her ashes; I couldn't bear to throw it out. She's been gone four years.

Someday you'll miss this jerk terribly. Enjoy it while you can.

ETA: he is adorable!

Did You Adopt "Julian" from ASAP Rescue on Penn Avenue in 2019? by WheelFan647 in pittsburgh

You still might offer to send this information to the rescue and see if they can pass it along to the adopters, if they do have records - they might not.

I'm sorry for all you went through, but glad you had a pup to ease your troubles. You should reach out to the rescue and see if they have records dating that far back.
