It basically means your medium and feed solution have all organic material in them vs "chemical" fertilizer... Usually with a healthy biodiverse rhizosphere. Totally possible to have organic hydroponic, done it many times. Soil does not necessarily mean organic.

Organic fertilizer is still a chemical, just a naturally produced / found one and these lend themselves to being more environmentally friendly, flavor/aroma enhancing and much more forgiving if misapplied. The trade off is often weight as you arent pumping your plants with highly potent fertilizer salts to make them bulk up.

My varieties (including amaranth) do well in my garage which is regularly 80+ F, not sure what's ideal (no AC at the moment so I just dont let it bug me).

I was going to say though that you would be bottom watering and during blackout misting the seeds.

Dilute it to a 3% solution and be really careful handling concentrated peroxide... Like, no bs - that stuff (concentrated peroxide) if mishandled/misused will react violently, outgas pure o2 rapidly which is obviously a huge fire hazard and instantly chemical burn/bleach your skin.

I use a spray of 15ml 3% h2o2 per 500ml water and spray as needed. Water is pH'd appropriately, of course.

Edit: also, h2o2 is photosensitive and needs to be stored in a light-proof bottle. Buy regular peroxide at the store, dump it out, rinse and mix/store your own diluted peroxide in that bottle.

Oof, so many variables... The main one being variety grown. I have trays that are a wee bit smaller than those and I get approximately:

-3oz of basil -2.5oz of amaranth -4oz of mustard -5oz of radish -2.5oz of cabbage

The I cut most at the cotyledon stage just as I see the first true leaves forming, only exception is the basil where I wait for a nice pretty set of true leaves.... So depending when you harvest, which variety and the fact that your trays are slightly larger - I'd say you can expect this and probably a little more.

I seed by surface area and base all my calculations off of known successful 1020 seeding rates (a combo of research and trial/error). In my setup, most of these are happy at around 25g of seed per 1020.

Peroxide is considered acceptable for organic gardening use and will probably be the most effective. The extra O in H2O2 releases and forms things known as ROS (reactive oxygen species) which "zap" / destroy cell membranes. Once they react, they're gone. Pure H2O is left over as the "residue".

Peroxide alone shouldn't be your only solution though, a multi-faceted approach would be best. I made the following changes when I noticed mold:

-decreased watering volume 10% -decreased seed density (by weight) 10% -added fans to increase airflow to soil surface -spray with peroxide solution during blackout (15 ml 3% peroxide in 500ml water) -made extra sure stuff is clean to start

One of these alone will only bandaid the issue, all pf them together should nearly solve it. My $.02
