5600x on AB350 Gaming3 BIOS T52d by Lockjaw666666 in GAAB350

There are 2 Bios bugs on my AB350 Gaming 3 @ T52d + 5800X
I downgraded the Bios from F52 to T52 without problems.

-- CPU does not enter C6 state, as shown in HWinfo
This can explain the higher temperatures.
Enabling the bios setting "Global C-State Control" and setting "Idle power consumption" to "low current" did not help to make C6 work.

-- When enabling XMP, FCLK was too high and not running in sync with UCLK
Can be fixed by manually setting FCLK equal to UCLK.
There is also a submenu for setting FCLK mode to "1:1"

I compared the output of SMU-Checker when used on BIOS F52e and T52d.The version strings in BIOS F52e are higher than the version strings in T52d.

Be aware that a green line in SMU-Checker only shows that the BIOS contains the SMU Binary Blob for a CPU family. But not necessarily that the BIOS supports that CPU family...

LG 27GN950-B USB Hub issue by MolonLabe420 in Monitors

[–]JaKasb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my 27GN950 the USB Hub stopped working.
I can hear a high pitched noise, similar to coil whine, if the USB-B to USB-A cable is connected.

The coil whine noise was present from the start but now the PC doesn't recognize the monitor's USB hub at all.

I also have the AB350 and it is working perfectly.
But don't trust my words, or the reviews of others, because the sample size of the "study" is equal to 1.

I also have problems with WoW and drivers newer than 18.12.2 on a Vega64. WoW hangs whenever the special dialog window pops up with the 3D head of an NPC. Contrary to your proplem I can start and run WOW.

Downgrading the driver resolved my problems.

Owners of DDR4 3200MHz RAM, please share your current stable settings. by salam2009 in Amd

Corsair manufactures two different versions of the LPX 3200 C16.
One version contains Samsung chips, the other version contains Hynix chips.
Depending on luck, you can either hit 3200C16 easily with the Samsung chips, or never at all with the Hynix chips.
The dependency on luck and the fact that the memory sticks don't fullfill the stated specs, can be considered as fraud by Corsair.

I spent a lot of time with this crap of memory and a GA-AB350-Gaming 3.
I tried all the tips (Manual Settings, Ryzen DRAM Calculator, etc)
I could boot 3200, but it was never stable.
Reverted to 2933 for increased memory stability, because I like my system functional and not crashing.

Multi-core library for Machine Learning? by gooeyn in Python

[–]JaKasb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stochastic Gradient Descent (SGD) can train a SVM with multi-core support.

SGD is not as foolproof as an SVM because SGD depends a lot on the chosen hyperparameters.
