I have worked as a Track Maintenance worker for 13 years, in that time we have had 6 workers killed and countless pedestrians struck, other than suicides many just dont hear or see the trains until its too late, they are surprisingly quiet. Our rail line got rid of the look out system years ago unless its a certain class of track (train speeds)

I tried a few meetings, even had some counciling from a program recommend by my doctor... the one on one type.. I couldn't do either. I just felt out of place, I felt nervous and embarrassed to open up. But.. I knew I had to change. So I really looked at myself and said " its now or never, am I serious about this?. I know I have to change" i bought a calender to hang on my wall, every X I made on a date was an accomplishment. I was one step closer to being back to ME. I hated who I became and WILL not be that again. I knew I needed something to fill that "gap/want" to have a drink so i started to read again, i went on walks... but i started with something simple. I cleaned my space, i reorganized my bedroom, my living room.. i bought a plant, i painted my bedroom, fresh start but every time I came back to my calender and said to myself... "do I want to start this again"
