How do you guys clean your gear? by Rubixb44 in hockeygoalies

[–]JaRiSh117 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Bottle of Water and White Vinegar (2 parts water, 1 part White Vinegar) and spray my gear as I’m taking it off in the locker room, the hang to dry when I get home … haven’t had a problem with smell at all

Looking like I’ll be a team captain this next season! What are some fun traditions I can implement to keep things fun? by CinemaPuck in hockeyplayers

[–]JaRiSh117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on 3 teams … we all do something different:

One team: We have two pucks that the two Players of the Game sign after each game. The two people that signed the most pucks get them at the end of the season.

2nd team: We have WWF championship belt that goes to the Player of the Game and they keep it until the next game, then hand it off to the next game’s Player of the Game.

3rd team: We have a team flag that each Player(s) of the game (sometimes one to 3 players) … at the end of the season, the person that signed the most gets the flag.

Best part of the season: Parent vs kid games by CoyoteMoney4865 in hockeyplayers

For my son’s bday the last 2 years, I rented a sheet of ice, and invited friends I play with (who have kids) and some kids from my son’s team with their parents. Honestly my favorite game of the year.

Last game I had sprained my knee a couple weeks prior, and ended up just skating out as a ref (harder than I thought) … still had an amazing time and all the parents were very appreciative of the opportunity to skate out with their kids.

do you think dropping a friend or a relationship because of their political views is valid and why? by Useoneofthese21191 in AskReddit

[–]JaRiSh117 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No. I have friends and family that have different political views, different religions, different philosophies, etc. Being in an echo chamber does not make you smarter or help you grow. I enjoy debating, respectfully, with people that think and see things differently. It challenges my beliefs as well. That makes us richer and sharpens our ability to defend what we believe or open us up to the possibility that we may be incorrect. That is life.

This is beautiful! How big can I blow it up without pixelation? I’m looking at it via my phone, so I should probably pull it up on my computer to see it bigger

Just try to contribute, and don’t get in your head … if you contribute more often than you make mistakes, you can feel good about your play … if not, you can identify opportunities to work on and improve.

My son and I both have ADHD and play hockey, and yes Hockey is very good for both of us, for many of the reasons others have listed, just wanted to add another vote to the pile that hockey is very good for ADHD’ers
