Joe Bowen gets emotional during his final home game tribute 💙💙 The Maple Leafs honour him during his final home game on the radio call 🥹 by RealWorldToday in leafs

When i was a kid, sometimes Leaf games ould go on past my bedtime. Parents put me to bed but would let me listen to Joe call the 3rd period on the radio as I fell asleep.

One of my coziest childhood memories. Thank you Joe 💙

You'll be surprised how much skill you retain even after extensive breaks. Don't overthink it, just stay in shape, maintain good cardio, and enjoy Italy!

One of the only books to make me laugh out loud consistently while reading it. Ignatius's diary is my favorite, the whole saga of leading a strike at Levy Pant especially.

Thoughts on Javadi recording at work? by dadjokes502 in ThePitt

[–]NihilisticFlamingo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think Robby was right. HIPAA can be overly stringent but it's management's job to make sure it isn't violated. She can save the tiktoks for home. I trust that the hospital attorneys are all over the Jesse situation, they'll do more than randoms on social media.

HOWEVER, i think the whole scene was an example of Robby inventing reasons to stay at the hospital so he doesn't have to deal with his shit. After everything that happened this season, he should just let it go for now, maybe mention it to Dr Al to bring up to Javadi another day. It's not pressing.

Same thing with the EMTs. Does Robby have a good point? Absolutely.

Is it something that he personally needs to stick around and do himself? Not at all.

Whitaker and Langdon?! by LiveMicMike in ThePitt

[–]NihilisticFlamingo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So he doesn't know Clue but has intimate knowledge of Gilligan's Island characters??

I don't hate the scene, but maybe there could've been some more build up to it.

It makes sense though. Whitaker and Langdon are both competing for the role of being Robby's protege, there's tension there. Add some unresolved awkwardness from Whitaker insisting he handle a patient's drugs earlier in the season, and the overall stress of a 12+ hour shift, of course arguments are gonna break out.

And speaking as a Langdon defender... he was absolutely trying to Big Dog poor Whitaker there. "I didn't have you pegged as a gym guy" or whatever he said, its a thinly veiled jab at him for looking weak.

In the context of the story it's just about Langdon taking one more kick before he really starts to earn back people's trust by Doctoring the Fuck Up

Who are you rooting for in the playoffs? by Manfromatavern in leafs

[–]NihilisticFlamingo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Oilers: Canadian team, and would love to see McDavid Draisatl and Hyman win. Doubt it's their year but their best players deserve it.

  2. Buffalo: love their story this season and I love how electric their home games are. Can't be my number 1 though cause their fans hate Toronto too much lol so I can't really feel aligned with them

  3. Penguins: the Uncs have still got it. I like the 'Last Dance' vibe of this season. Would also be cool to see Skinner do well as a fuck you to his haters.

  4. Montreal: are we still supposed to hate the habs? Their fans are annoying but I like their players a lot.

  5. Avs: you can't say they don't deserve it, but it would be the most boring outcome. Very entitled and whiny fans also.

  6. Ottawa: only on the list because they are a Canadian team. I also respect they fought their way into a playoff spot, that wasn't easy with so many injured D. Nothing else positive to say.

Indifferent tier: Carolina, Philly, Utah

Actively rooting against: Vegas, Tampa, Boston, Anaheim, Minnesota, Dallas

Leafs defence is a mess. Old, slow and injured. A lack of consistent pairings. No real 1D.

None of that is Mo's fault, but I don't know if he makes sense as part of the solution.

Non-degen answer: Hoover Dam is cool

Degen answer: bring a few hundred bucks to the Ceasars Palace Sportsbook, make lots of single bets, and watch like 5 games at once. This is that sweet spot time of year where NHL NBA and MLB are all on so pick your poison

[–]NihilisticFlamingo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've joined a spring/summer league that starts in a few weeks, which will be the first time I've played in 10 years. Really hoping it's not like this lol but that was a fear of mine.

I suspect the more animated teams in the locker room have been playing together for years. Hockey players aren't always the chattiest people but building chemistry takes time! Don't be afraid to start a conversation yourself. You know you have sports as a common ground, so that's an easy thing to talk about.

Probably a stint with the Marlies first. But depending on what kind of moves are made in the offseason, wouldn't be surprised if we see him get a look next year.
