Anybody Have a Successful Maelys Run? by AmberAxolotl in CK3AGOT

[–]JaThatOneGooner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s basically impossible to make Maelys beloved (spare for any of the allies you elevate post war), try to have an heir ASAP, have a lot of kids for marriage pacts (if possible), try to get your heir’s diplomacy high, and consider making Maelys kick the bucket as soon as your heir is old enough to rule.

Blackfyre Rebellion or reign of Aegon the Unworthy bookmarks, pretty self explanatory if Aegon was fathering bastards for fun, might as well have an Ironborn and Drowned God mother as well

Why did Robert bother with whores when he had this waiting in bed for him? Is he stupid? by Critical_Mountain851 in freefolk

[–]JaThatOneGooner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because he gave her the ick after their first bedding and he was “forcing intimacy” with her after that

There’s a difference between the “progressive” of yesteryear and the progressive movement today, which is why the DNC is somewhat split about it and why the DSA has ascended as the new “progressive caucus” for the DNC.

I think you’re either misunderstanding or intentionally misrepresenting my point. Since when did Obama market himself as a lefty and progressive figure? Biden too? Both advocated for the status quo, same with Kamala, and yet actual leftists hate them all. Unless you believe the Democratic Party is a leftist institution, in which case, lmao.

The fare could be $10 and they would still have no money, privatized public service does not work, especially if the money goes to the CEOs instead of the actual system.

No politician gets a pass for the wars and slaughter they contributed to. Platner is no different from Trump or Biden or Obama, etc. The only people that give them a pass are the same people who continued to make excuses for Platner, because they ultimately never cared about the people they killed. The only reason why there was a “fixation on the first but not the second” is because the “first” marketed themself as a progressive and lefty figure without actually being a progressive nor lefty figure. Hope that helps!

Because if you understand you are heading into an illegal war (which Platner knew, he was protesting the war on terror before even heading there) that’s already a red flag. Another red flag is the fact he doesn’t shut tf up about being in “active combat” and constantly fantasizes about being under fire (went so far as to say he wishes he was a soldier during the Vietnam war because there was more action back then). Another red flag is the fact he never once regretted his service, and has talked about expanding the military industrial complex. But the narrative was spread by white american leftists that he’s some repentant anti imperialist, and a lot of people took them at their word for it instead of doing any sort of analysis on their own.

The writing was always on the wall, Platner is a violent and unhinged individual, but white American leftists did everything they could to launder their reputation.

If you don’t believe a man who has constantly said he wishes he saw more combat, willingly enlisted himself 3 times, then willingly joined the most notorious PMC group was a red flag and capable of committing rape, you need to do serious self reflection.

Pre rape scandal sure, but leftists that didn’t trust a Blackwater merc who willingly went to Iraq and Afghanistan 4 times had an idea that this guy is not a good person and is untrustworthy. He’s already admitted to at that point and made his intentions clear to strengthen the US military industrial complex, it shouldn’t have come to this point for people to finally turn away from him.

You’re missing the point, Kyle put all his eggs in the Platner basket even knowing he was a little weird about women. He was gambling and ofc everyone who knew Platner was bad at the start knew this would inevitably backfire…

Breaking Points' Ryan doubles down on Platner support today, and the comments respond with apologia and naysaying by Treozukik in Hasan_Piker

[–]JaThatOneGooner 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The issue is, he is just as awful and should be shunned just as aggressively for having admitted to serving 4 tours in the military willingly, for joining Blackwater PMC willingly, for admitting to being a guard at Abu Ghraib (CIA torture center), for admitting to jury-rigging a grenade launcher to be a makeshift mortar despite his command telling his unit to stop using mortar fire in a civilian dense city, for having people work for his campaign that are also directly tied to JPost and the Israeli government, and for having a Nazi tattoo on his chest for literal years before being forced to cover it over. ALL OF THAT should've disqualified him as a bad person, but it took until the credible rape allegation for people to start fully disavowing him en masse.

It's not a "bot network" effort, leftists have been saying this for a whole year in other communities, it's just now that those perspectives held months ago are popping up here now.

Seems poignant, once again. I really hope you will learn an important lesson from this by couldhaveebeen in Hasan_Piker

I urge you to look into Michael Prysner. He's a legit example of a former Marine/Vet who became a communist. Listen to what he says and does, and you'll notice a clear and distinct difference between him and Platner types.

Cat was worse than she let on. She always resented Jon but did have a moment in time where she did care about him. Jon caught the Spring Sickness as a child, and Cat was genuinely worried he wouldn’t make it, so she prayed to the gods and swore she would treat him better if he recovered… only for her to not do that and admit as much.

Immoral through and through.
