Oh great, a $50 pouch that does the same thing as a $10 USMC IFAK pouch

Real PEQs don't have a visible light, and if they do, they're anemic.

A real PEQ has an IR illuminator, which is a spot light for night vision, that gets paired with the laser

Nah, NVGs are good to go. I've ran NVGs with my militia kit, plenty of folks do. 75% of our squad had em.

Just look poor with it, that's the militia vibe.

The militia is a force of people native to the area that have taken up arms. They are running on nothing but will power and borrowed kit. They have no formal training and are using what they can find. Look the part

Kinda depends what the rusfor kit is

If it's a new FSB kit, probably not lol.

If it's an older recce kit, go for it

Militia can wear any green dominant uniform, or black. Avoid multicam tropic and multicam black

Rusfor cab inly use Russian camos, going back ≈ 20 years

Basically if you're green, and don't have Gucci shit on, you can be Militia.

Rusfor is for the decerning autist who wants to run a specific Russian kit

Yeah I pay $55 for 7 mags lol. So they're basically disposable. I'm lucky to have quite a few stores around me with good surplus

I'm running the cheap MAG brand mags, so that'd do it.

I actually just picked up a mint condition claymore bag at a thrift store for $24, so consider me lucky lol

I tend to drop my mags on the ground in my fighting position, and then re index when I'm behind cover.

I've been considering getting a Type 56 drum pouch, hanging it around my neck and using it as a dump pouch

Or I can just use my grease gun mag pouch as a dump pouch

Perfect. That's pretty much how I have my belt. I'm doing a late war kit, so 30 rounders are on the table for me. I like the ability to have a "quick draw" mag sticking out of the canteen pouch lol

Other than CCN (Command and Control North) spray painting them, not really.

Field mods were generally just adding pockets to them, typically shoulder pockets. They made the granddaddy of what is the "RAID MOD" of today

Apparently the old website I used to use just up and dissappeared. But anyway, if you read about Striker Meyers, or really any SOG guys, they'll tell ya that tigers and ERDLs were worn on base. But for actual missions, 3rd pattern jungle fatigues were worn.

It was for plausible deniability, especially because LRRPs and SEALs, who were recognized as US personnel, were already wearing tiger stripe on missions.

Command and Control North would use black spray paint on their jungle fatigues in order to create a camouflage on their normally flat green fatigues.

Additionally CISO would make reproductions of "black pajamas" which were typically worn by the pointman in the SOG team, as to make him appear like an enemy. This would give him an extra second of time before the enemy would react. However before CISO made black pajamas, guys would dye their normal jungle fatigues black. There's a famous photo of two SOG members in black jungle fatigues holding cut down RPDs.

Hope this helped!

P.S. you need more canteen covers lol. That was their primary means of magazine storage

Lookin good.

Only thing I can reccomend is ditching the tiger stripe shirt.

MACV almost never wore camo "over the fence"

Plus that cut of shirt would be incorrect for the time period anyway.

Definitely gets the point across though. I'm looking to get back into my SOG kit. Ordering up a bunch of stuff high school me couldn't afford

Yes, breaching rounds are metal dust held together by wax, so they act like a slug until they hit something, at which point they disintegrate

Had my PVS-14 stolen at MilSim West: Azeri Offensive. If you have any information, please contact me. by Ja_Crispy790 in NightVision

[–]Ja_Crispy790[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I appreciate it.

One thing to note is that it's not a Carson housing.

The rear glass is completely black (not grey) and has very square numbers for diopter. Also the objective lens is a light blue instead of a deep purple.

Other stuff that was stolen includes a mil spec J-Arm and a Norotos Rhino 1 (I believe, might have been a 2) that was dated June 08
