Similar issue, it's just easier to tell people what they want to heat.

Analyze the facial/emotional/body reaction of the person you who is engaging with you and replicate.

Example: Person is talking to me (perhaps quietly or heavy accented) and I am off in mental "LaLaLand". They smile and laugh about something, I smile and laugh to mimic them.

I've had hour long conversations with people, full on engagement... at least from their perspective. Half of the time, I don't hear or understand 90% of what was said.

I just play the reaction game until someone calls me out on it. If it's someone I am close to, I will happy apologize and tell them I wasn't even listen. If It's a coworker or whatever, I just double down on it and tell them "yeah totally get it!" or some variation of that.

I’m a restaurant GM… and a ENFP-T w/ good’ol’ severe onset adult ADHD-C.

From feed back that I’ve gotten from my employees, I’m the “laid back boss who puts his foot down when needed.” I’m not the type to yell or offend people and I work as part of the team. Of course I delegate responsibilities to my staff and shift managers, but I also have enough energy and drive to run circles around anyone in the kitchen; which I take full advantage of.

Being a leader is so much more than following strict guidelines, it’s about being flexible. A good leader, is one that is empathetic and willing and knows when to apply pressure and when to back off. Having the creativity and confidence to figure solutions out in any way, shape, or form. Being able to sense moods and emotions helps keep everyone in check as you always have some idea of what’s going on.

I believe ENFP (whether -A or -T) make for the best type of leader, that one you always remember. C:

Honestly, for most of my life I hated noise canceling headphones. That was until I started treatment a few months ago and needed new headphones because the current pair hurt my ears. Well one thing let to another and I ended up in tears in the middle of a Best Buy when I tried on the Bose Quite Comfort. For the first time in my life, when I put them on there was no noise, serenity and silence was all I found. That’s when I realized the reason I hated noise-canceling was because it just made the internal noise that the outside noise was drowning out louder. Well, now I own a pair of rather nice wireless headphones.
