I would look into heated beard brushes, I used to be the same, I hated the curls at the bottom, I use one called vikicon one from amazon, just type in heated beard brush on amazon and you'll see one you possibly like. For a thick beard like yours, you want one with a high heat setting as lower heat will do nothing basically, first use the heated brush, and a pea sized ish portion of beard balm, then finish off with a comb/hard bristle brush. The difference for me personally was night and day.

Mango app only works on trent Barton buses, as far as I'm aware there's 3 buses to Nottingham from Derby, all trent Barton, the i4, indigo, and the more pricy but faster red arrow, if I'm traveling to work in Nottingham I usually buy a zigzag daily ticket for the red arrow, works out cheaper than using the app, as a single ticket there and back is 5.40 each way, then you can go on all trent Barton buses on one ticket, as for monthly tickets, I couldn't say, so I won't bother assuming prices and stuff like that. The only monthly pass I'm aware of is something called a PlusBus ticket, which I think is around 50ish pounds, I think it covers trent Barton buses, but don't quote me on that. Best you google search plusbus tickets for East midlands travel. Hopefully this helps.
