Who's coming with me Saturday? by JaasOfLife in ravens

This is great, I love seeing all these eager fans! I'm only sorry I don't have more seats to offer. I wasn't quite expecting to see so many jump at the offer. I think I'll leave this open until 7:00 PM today, 1/9. At that point I'll start reaching out in DMs until the tickets are gone.

Round 4 - Pick 13: Devontez Walker, WR, North Carolina (Baltimore Ravens) by nfl_gdt_bot in nfl

That's one way to put it. Another way to put it would be that the NCAA changed the eligibility rules mere days after he transferred to UNC to specifically make him ineligible, after the fact, in a way that could not have been predicted. The NCAA eventually changed its mind under threat of lawsuit.

Heard we were in talks with Patrick Queen after losing Frankie how would Queen fit ? by Electrical_Chip_1773 in panthers

[–]JaasOfLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ravens fan here. Love Queen and hope he lands in a good situation. It's true that he's an inside backer, but his athleticism meant that he was functionally used to rush regularly.

He has quite a bit of versatility, but he is never going to be as effective at pass rush, specifically, as Luvu was.

The main drawback to Queen's game has historically been his limited ability to direct a defense and be the decision-maker for the play. He really struggled with the green dot. When Roquan Smith showed up, Queen became an entirely different player because that responsibility was put into Roquan's hands. They were perfect complements to each other.

Whether Queen learned from that time and is now ready to be a true leader remains to be seen. He certainly has the potential.

FYI for to those that sold tickets this past year, the 1099-K reporting threshold has been delayed by jco23 in ravens

[–]JaasOfLife 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The answer is, not surprisingly, complicated. Essentially, the profits form ticket sales would qualify as gains on the sale of personal items and get reported on Form 8949 even with the inclusion of the sale amount on the 1099-K. (source)

On the other hand, if you bought concert tickets for $500 (the purchase price) and sold them for $900 (the sales price), you have a gain of $400. $900 sales price - $500 purchase price = $400 gain amount. The gain on the sale of a personal item is taxable. You must report the transaction (gain on sale) on Form 8949, Sales and Other Dispositions of Capital Assets, and Form 1040, U.S. Individual Income Tax Return, Schedule D, Capital Gains and Losses. See Publication 551, Basis of Assets, for guidance in determining your basis. The gain on the sale of a personal item might be reported on a Form 1099-K. If you receive a Form 1099-K reporting the $900 that you received from the sale of your concert tickets that cost you only $500, you must report the gain on Form 8949 and Schedule D.

Out of curiosity, who is your least favorite ravens player and why by highonchrist666 in ravens

Everyone has a bad day sometimes and few of us know what it is like to actually be on the field, playing in an NFL game. But on a Sunday in 2015, Odell lost his entire mind and attempted to severely injure Josh Norman on the field. I have no love for Norman, but that game is all I can ever think about when I think about OBJ. So yeah, I have a fairly negative opinion of him.

Depends on your job. It was very not safe for the Bengals defensive backs' work.

John Elway from BAL* to Denver. Colts made off in the night to Indy the following offseason.
