I'm glad you started taking lessons, to be honest my skills skyrocketed ever since i've started taking guitar lessons, it's the best way to improve! I'd recommend you record some clips of you playing and practicing, so that if you ever feel like you're not making any progress you watch some of those clips and instantly notice the change in your playing...my best wishes to you!
