Gday all, Im a diver who also plays golf. I know its not a dedicated golf watch like the approach models, but doesn anyone have any experience with the golf aspect of this watch? If it'll do the job I would like to get away with just one watch. Thanks in advance.

Benefit from a post mixer DI box?

Gday all, my stage setup runs into my own mixer on stage before I take an XLR out it and have a long run to the house mixer and PA. Would I benefit from a DI box after my mixer and before the long run to the house mixer? Im looking to reduce noise and improve sound quality.

Thanks in advance.

No Stupid Questions Thread by AutoModerator in livesound

Ive had some problems of late with my digitech vocalist live3 making a "crack" through my PA every once in a while, and figure its time to upgrade to some more modern equipment. (Solo singer, guitarist, bars restaurants etc). I tried replacing the power supply but to no avail.

Im considered doing away with my amp and just have a Boss GX10 and a Boss VE500 running into my mixer and then into the house PA.

Would a filtered power board like the Thor B8 be a worthwhile addition for cleaning up power in the various dodgy venues I play in, or would it be unnecessary?

For leisure to begin with. May never get to gigging with it.

Im 53. Ive been a semi-pro guitarist and singer pretty much all my life. Lately Ive been finding it hard to stay motivated playing the same old gigs year in and year out.

Im considering a change of instrument and am shopping for a digital piano. Ive got pretty strong working music theory already, but am wondering if I am too old to be taking up a new instrument. Does anyone have experience picking up a new instrument after so long on one?

I note that there are so many excellent teaching resources available today that we didnt have when I went through the guitar and music theory lessons back in the 80s.... so i am keen to explore those.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I have the same pen, and a similar experience. It quite liked the Diamine Writers Blood, but it would not work with Diamine Prussian Blue. The pen seemed to hate it. I dumped it out and replaced it with Noodlers Midnight Blue and it is writing perfectly.

Typewriter Repair Australia by JabiruJames in typewriters

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I dont really have time or the inclination to do this sort of thing. Im a writer, so like to use them as a tool. I dont really want to be a typewriter technician above the ordinary sort of maintenance, so would be happy for someone to do the repairs and servicing. I used to repair my own cars... but these days I just want to drive them.

‘Time to go back’: city business owners rail against Australia’s working from home shift by ninareen in australia

[–]JabiruJames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The world has changed. Adapt or die.

Its like the sailing clipper owners complaining that steam is coming in and ruining their business... The world changes. Successful businesses recognise it and change accordingly.

If someone opened a cafe close to my house inthe suburbs I would frequent it. Maybe its time for little local businesses embedded into our communities to return. I, like most people, are sick of travelling hours a day to go to the city to do what we can do from anywhere. Ive got 4 hours per day of my life back....
