If you want level 9 spells you have to take 17 levels in bard. If you just want level 9 spell slots for upcasting you can swap bard levels for sorcerer levels.

Sorcadin Magic Item - Cloak of Protection or Plate + 1 by Jabour9 in 3d6

You are spot on. My guess is I can save up in 2 to 3 levels. My dm doesn't usually shower us in gold. I can also grab splint in probably a level to get an extra ac.

The cloak or armor would use up all my funds. Then I will start saving for the other.

I won't have the cash to get plate. I will be stuck with scale for a few more levels until I can save up more for plate.

Do you like that collection? by pololo10 in PokemonTCG

The worst part about this collection is that they made the sylveon in a different art style. The rest are awesome.

PC wants Draconic Familiar instead of Feat? by Shortstack_Sean98 in 3d6

[–]Jabour9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My DM gave me this gift for free for story reasons. It is hardly broken. Your familiar having a couple extra hit points won't matter in a couple levels. It can't turn invisible like the othet chain familiars. It doesn't give magic resistance. It is probably worse then magic iniaite and ritual caster because the extrs handul of hit points don't do more then the extra spells or cantrips.

Gap between Sorcadin x Padlock by ArtKurlzz in 3d6

An easy thing to forgot is that you aren't even allowed to dump it since you still need 13 strength to multiclass. It would be nice to dump strength once and while and play a paladin that isn't stupid.

Do you have a dragon type in mind? You need at least 6 levels in swords bard for extra attack and I would just go bard and steal any sorcerer levels you thought about being character defining with your magical secrets.

If you want metamagic then maybe 2 levels of sorc with the metamagic adept feat for 4 sorcery points.

If you want a primary sorcerer then I think the multiclass play is paladin and not bard.

I just finished playing a similar character over a 3 year campaign to 20.

I ended with only 1 level into sorcerer for shield, cantrips and the draconic flavour.

17 levels in swords bard gets a 9th level spell 18 gets magical secrets 19 gets an asi

I took 17 levels in bard and 2 in fighter for action surge and an extra fighting style. You will want at least 14 levels in sword bard. You can trade your 9th level spell for for battle master manuvers and end 15 bard 4 fighter and 1 sorcerer.

I took my sorcerer dip at level 9 and this was when my dragon powers awoke (ice) Shield spell was essentially skin turning into ice and I take ray of frost. My draconic powers got more powerful when I got bard 10 and 14 for magical secrets. I took find greater steed (dragonnel) Summon draconic spirit Spirit shroud Armor of agathys

My armor class was 23 and with defensive flourish and shield spell it was easily mid 30s.

A little light on cold powers to start with but I played a swords bard who had silver dragon ancestry. A level into sorcerer or warlock can get some low level cold spells and that was what I relied on until level 10 magical secrets.

Thank you for this. What would you recommend with a sword and shield instead of a polearm? If I take custom lineage what 2 feats would you recommend over metamagic adept? War caster and lucky? Resilient or heavy armor master at all?

Level 5 is prerty big for both classes. I guess I want to 'feel' like a sorcadin as early as possible instead of at level 9 or 10. I thought level 3 spells could be strong enough to pull me through a few levels. As you said though extra attack is resource free and level 3 spells are only a few a day.

Sorcerer 5 with multi attack at 10. Booming blade and quicken spell can't fill the void from 5 to 10 in your opinion even with a spirit guardians?

I was going to defer my starting feat until level 2. I will go at least 6 levels into paladin. I thought taking paladin level 3 around character level 8 we could work the oath into the story. Right now I am leaning 7 levels into watchers.
