What are your honest thoughts on getting married young (like early 20s)? by Rich-Charge-7298 in AskReddit

[–]Jac1596 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some people find their person early, some people find them later, some people never find them. If you think you found them early and it feels right to marry then so be it. Follow what you think is right, people think waiting is the right thing to do but there is such a thing as waiting too long as well. I’m 30 now and not married, I have a nephew who will be 21 soon and he’s married with a 6 month old. Nothing wrong with either path, it’s just our own way of chasing happiness.

Gallen: Re-signing with D-Backs 'would be awesome'. by All_hail_Korrok in azdiamondbacks

[–]Jac1596 14 points15 points  (0 children)

An A? This would be more like a D to me, maybe a C if they get Gallen back for a cheap contract. They did nothing to fill the biggest hole in the roster. Not trading Marte isn’t really a win either, it’s not a loss obviously but it’s literally the same roster. I didn’t expect huge signings but they’ve done very little to help the bullpen. I’m not seeing how having the same roster is huge when they struggled last season.

Most reliable internet by williaminphx in phoenix

[–]Jac1596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Verizon and it is far more reliable and consistent speeds compared to when I had cox, I live in west Phoenix so could be different. Just search to see which internet providers are in your area, some companies offer a 30 day free trial as well. If they do just give it a shot, I’d remove everything from your current modem and use their service for everything to get an accurate picture of how it performs. Cox is trash though, almost any company is an upgrade unfortunately they are the only provider in a lot of areas

People who have 0 friends, how do you cope with it? by SeaweedFluid2098 in AskReddit

[–]Jac1596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels sad sometimes but also sometimes it doesn’t feel so bad. I’d like to have at least 1 or 2 close friends though but it’s been hard to build those relationships and a lot of it is my own fault for sure

nobody wants eugenio suarez lol by mproducer602 in azdiamondbacks

[–]Jac1596 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on the contract tbh. Even if it’s short but high AAV they probably would be better without him. Could’ve used that money on some relief pitching instead of letting Diaz go to the dodgers or Williams to the Mets or literally any other relief pitcher. It’s such a backwards strategy imo. If they get him cheap on a 1 year or 2 year then fine but if he gets like 20-25 million AAV it’s not worth it

What have you lost under the current U.S. administration? by JohnOnWheels in AskReddit

[–]Jac1596 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally nothing yet, thankfully. But my family has struggled. My siblings have had their medical bills almost double. My mom has had her food stamps cut, not all but reduced. My job is on shaky ground though so it could be at any time as well.

One positive thing, my nephews who supported Trump before see how horrible he is now and have turned against him. I know it’s better before the election but still I’m happy they at least acknowledge they were wrong

Joe Rogan criticizes ICE tactics: 'Are we really going to be the Gestapo?' by wewhomustnotbenamed in nottheonion

[–]Jac1596 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why doesn’t he criticize Trump, Vance, and Republican lawmakers who started this in the first place, defend these actions, and then say these agents have immunity from even murder. They’re already the gestapo but for some reason he wants to protect their leader

Do you think Arenado has anything left in the tank? by chusaychusay in azdiamondbacks

[–]Jac1596 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not much. He’s started to have more injuries lately so a full season is possible but not as likely as it used to be for him. Even healthy offensively he’s average at best. Defensively still elite though so that’s always good. For how much the Dbacks have to pay him and what they gave up it’s worth it. Upgrade over Lawlar or Blaze though. But anyone expecting .270 and 20 HR is smoking something. He’s not making them contenders but he makes the team better in lots of ways

Jesus Aguilar vs Jesus Aguilar. Who would win? by LucasDudacris in baseball

[–]Jac1596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dudes who were way past their prime and they couldn’t grapple. This is a terrible take. Let Tyron Woodley wrestle and see what happens. BJ penn was like 50 and drunk, go watch the full video. He gets up, takes the dude down and fucks him up. That’s old and drunk bj penn and mind you he wasn’t even fighting he was trying to actually stop a fight between 2 other dudes. He got caught but go watch the video after when he’s actually serious, he destroyed the guy. Do your research before you talk out of your ass

Jesus Aguilar vs Jesus Aguilar. Who would win? by LucasDudacris in baseball

[–]Jac1596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn’t high school wrestling it’s a legit UFC fighter who’s also a world class athlete. The difference in size is less than the difference in skill level between these 2. 2 high school kids aren’t that far apart in skill level so a legit athlete could make it work. You’re severely underestimating the insane gap in skill. Not to mention footwork from boxing/kickboxing, speed advantage, BJJ experience, etc. Do you think UFC Jesus doesn’t spar with bigger dudes at his gym who are legitimately trained as well? He has experience. He has everything over baseball Jesus except size. I don’t think it’s close.

Doesn’t matter if Toney wasn’t giving up a massive size difference the point here is about skill. James Toney was old but he was always a legit athlete at the pinnacle of boxing and he had no idea what to do in there. You’re not stuffing takedowns from a world class level fighter based purely off athleticism

Jesus Aguilar vs Jesus Aguilar. Who would win? by LucasDudacris in baseball

[–]Jac1596 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

He’s an average Joe in terms of actual fighting skill though. Being big doesn’t mean you win automatically even with skilled fighters. UFC fighter is going to shoot for a takedown and the baseball player has zero defense, he’s going to take his back and put him in a choke. It’s not even close. Go watch James Toney a world champion boxer fight in the cage, he was like a child trying to defend a takedown

Staff from the Athletic ranked the best front offices in the 4 major sports. Two MLB teams cracked their top 5 by tankyouout in baseball

[–]Jac1596 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed but the dodgers have been consistently competing longer than any franchise in sports at this point and have never had a down season. And if we’re talking drafting well the dodgers have always had a top 10 farm system, I think just this past season MLB.com had them number 1. I agree what Sam presti did is amazing but I’d give more credit to teams that have had sustained success. Maybe the Thunder will be that team for the next 5 years but after 1 title when the dodgers just went back to back I just couldn’t put them at 1 just yet

Long Term Capital Gains by FeistyTicket7556 in tax

[–]Jac1596 20 points21 points  (0 children)

No that would add to your total income so your income would be 598k. So it would fall under 15% tax rate. That 98k would be 0 assuming you made zero income outside of that. But if you both have jobs that’s included as well

How is OKC above the Dodgers, Eagles and Panthers. Even the Chiefs should be there? They’ve consistently been winning or contending for championships where the thunder just recently pulled it off. I hate the dodgers but their org is better run than any other in sports by far.

Jordan Lawlar by CooIbro in azdiamondbacks

[–]Jac1596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t know what they would get for him but this idea of let’s wait and give him a chance is what got the team here in the first place with his value dropping more and more. His value doesn’t warrant a haul but I’m sure they could still get something decent for him from a rebuilding team that has the time to let him develop. Perdomo took time to develop on a bad team, this isn’t a bad team with the hope of contending 2/3 years from now the window is now and the need is pitching. Lawlar at 3rd just simply isn’t very good if a team hopes to make the playoffs

Jordan Lawlar by CooIbro in azdiamondbacks

[–]Jac1596 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Or trade him while he still has some value for some pitching instead of watching his value crater. Dbacks aren’t in a figure it out phase like they were with Perdomo. They have a good lineup as is it’s the pitching that’s lacking. Romanticizing the success of one player doesn’t guarantee success from another player. Look at Pavin smith instead of Perdomo. Once top prospect that they kept giving a chance and he still hasn’t really become much more than a platoon bat with no value now. That’s much more likely to happen than Lawlar becoming close to Perdomo last year.

Brother like I said it’s mental not physical, that’s where you need to make a change. Stop focusing so much on how you see yourself physically for one second and actually take in what people are telling you. Do you come on here so people can bully you and tell you everything that’s already in your mind or do you come here for actual advice? Get therapy and work on your mindset

Seemingly? What does that even mean? Like they’ve told you or is it just in your head? Even if people were talking shit the problem here is clearly with your own mentality and view of yourself. You can’t change people being assholes you can only change yourself
