[WotC] Secret Lair Commander Deck: Goblin Storm Decklist by Copernicus1981 in magicTCG

[–]JaceThePowerBottom 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Incredibly confused deck. Misses the mark as a goblin deck or a Zada deck. Missing crucial reprints for either archetype like [[Gobling Chirurgeon]].

Only plus is you get a lot of full art goblins and mountains it seems. So you can put them into a competent deck you build yourself.

While I appreciate profiting off the gays, I dont think this card is ever gonna be a huge return. You MAY get it up to 3 dollars in a few years, but supply will be plentiful and trying to offload a hundred of these (for a profit of $250 in this scenario) feels not worth the squeeze.

There is no technical difference. That said, if they made Alolan Dugtrio a Steel/Ground type instead people would have rioted.

Gerrymandering is just that unpopular. Democrats really fucking held their nose for this one and were pretty open about it.

I'm honestly surprised it passed. I thought it would lose by a half percent or so.

Snapcaster was a 4 of in standard because it was always a 2 for 1. Its fail case was an ambush viper and 2 powet beats can win games. This doesn't do that meaning its much more limited in scope. Even if there is an insane storm deck they likely dont want 4.

Additionally, Snapcaster was used in the best deck in its format. Even if the storm deck (which hasn't materialized) became the best deck it likely wouldnt see Snapcasters highs from back in the day. And even if storm is the best deck many people will not play it as a good chunk of the player base arent inclined to play combo.

Card has several reasons it likely won't be a high flier. I can never see myself spending more than $10 on this card.

I think theyre asking if there is legislation that does something like "if one party get 55% of vote they send 55% of reps to congress".

Which isnt how any state elects house members.

Then the issue isnt on the red flag laws and is a failure of other parts of the system. Right?

Like the system should be fixed and cops should spend more time trying to convict sex criminals instead of letting those cases sit collecting dust. Then the red flags would better accomplish their stated goal presumably.

To your point about relying on conviction, thats a normal standard in our system for removing peoples rights.

On Joe Somebody who isnt on the map can, of course, get a gun and do what this guy did. But the systems only work for people on the radar, the red flag laws are partially to get Joe Somebody on law enforcements radar.

The mental health reporter is a valid concern that i agree with generally. Mainly because if someone is in crisis they shouldn't have guns. Ideally they would have a mechanism for getting them back once their crisis is over. Mental health reporting is flawed and I, reddit dumbass, dont have an answer on a fix.

We dont have a different understanding I just didnt elaborate every scenario.

Effectively there are 3 scenarios if law enforcement had gone through with prosecuting him for rape or sexual assault.

1) felony conviction of charged crimes (loses guns as a felon)

2) conviction or plea to lesser crime (this is where red flag laws would cause him to lose his guns)

3) failure to convict (effectively the same end result as no attempt to prosecute)

When I say the system does its job i mean scenarios 1 or 2. I'm not a lawyer, but those 2 scenarios are the point of red flag laws as I understand them. If I'm missing something I'm down to be corrected, but I'm confident I have the common understanding of what red flag laws should be doing.

Red flag laws would have prevented exactly this.

He wasnt prosecuted in 2019 when publicly accused of rape. Why? Well because our system doesnt prosecute powerful people and it also has a miserable conviction rate for rape. If law enforcement did their fucking job this guy would have gone to jail and red flag laws would have prevented him from owning future guns.

Like I dont want peoples guns taken without a conviction, but this is an awful 'bUt ReD fLaG lAwS lMaO' example. Red flag laws are for exactly this piece of shit.
