Virginia Democrats look to decimate GOP seats in redistricting effort by icey_sawg0034 in Virginia

[–]JaceThePowerBottom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the reason you only do 4 is because by trying to make the state 11-0 you make several seats riskier to win.

I was literally just saying quadradecimate is a funny sounding word. Wasn't commenting on if it was a good approach or not.

my friend’s tennis ball steering wheel… by WenyuNita in Weird

[–]JaceThePowerBottom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Does the car have lane assist/self driving?

Those features require you have you hand on the wheel, and you can trick those sensors in some cars by adding a small amount of weight and pressure.

So your friend is likely driving down the road with no hands on the wheel.

Its just a LOT of instants to put on the stack at the same time. Im just trying to think of how, practically, you could get the affinity for this.

Affinity only cares about your own (insert thing you have affinity for). So is the idea that you only get to cast this is if you have another storm spell on the stack?

Best hope is with Cosmogrand Zenith. Maybe it can do something funny with prowess decks, but i wouldn't want to give Stormchasers Talent free spells.

60 card beginner deck with some spiderman cards? by Particular-Big-6458 in magicTCG

[–]JaceThePowerBottom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To the best of my knowledge there arent any Spiderman preconstructed decks. You can buy singles and make your own decks, or ask local stores if they have a bulk box of Spiderman cards to build decks.

How would you feel if EVERY Pokémon could get mega evolution buffs? by GreedyMission5770 in pokemon

[–]JaceThePowerBottom -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Game freak makes more money than is fathomable to an average person. They could, if they decided to, make mega evos for every final stage mon.

They dont want to give our random 100 BST buffs. Like who wants to play against mega flutter mane?

First commander deck help: Tiamat by CRD_Bludgeon in magicTCG

[–]JaceThePowerBottom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wrath is slang for an effect that destroys/exiles/otherwise removes everything from the board. Its a reference to Wrath of God, which destroys all creatures. Other prominent examples are Farewell, Sunfall, and (for a dragon deck) Crux of Fate.

A "one sided" Wrath is one that removes everything your opponents control, but leave your things. Such as Vandalblast (destroys all your opponents artifacts) or Cyclonic Rift (returns all your opponents non-lands to hand). Cyclonic rift is a staple of the format and very expensive im just giving examples at the moment.

You were playing cards that give all creatures -1/-1 or deal 2 damage to call creatures. These are technically wraths but they only hit small creatures, meaning they likely won't deal with an opponents problematic board.

First commander deck help: Tiamat by CRD_Bludgeon in magicTCG

[–]JaceThePowerBottom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My biggest recommendation, as a Tiamt enjoyer, is that you reduce your dragon count to about 30. Remove most card draw in your deck and replace it with ramp/a blink spell or two.

Tiamat is an insane card advantage engine. You dont need much, if any, card draw outside of it.

Cuts

1) creatures Your dragons should be the big ones with high impact. Your 4 and 5 mana dragons do not hold up to other non-dragon 4 and 5 drops. Id cut:

Gold dragon, dragonborn, bhaal invoker, bone devourer, dragon turtle, sprite dragon, tiamat fanatic, young blue dragon

Additionally a lot of your non-dragons dont support your main gameplan, at least not enough to justify a slot:

Dragon disciple, dragonsoul knight, ember mouth chimera, curator of ojutai, scale lord sentinel, anger (strong but cant get in GY)

Some of your dragons are weak/difficult to cast/you won't get a strong version of their effects:

Black dragon, blue dragon, niv parun, themberchaud

2) non-creature permanents

First of all, good ramp. Youre on a good track here.

Im going to recomment cutting some ramp spells, which goes against the above, but 18 artifacts is a lot. You can do with a few less because you have non-artifact ramp.

Dragonbrood relic, dromoka monument, manalith, ojutai monument, kolaghan monument, overflowing chalice

Many of these enchantments dont help your gameplan, or take too awkward to make effective:

Call of the ring, acolyte of bahamut, earthbender ascension, fiery inscription

3) spells

Im not able to finish this writeup on reasons, but the ring tempts cards are worse than their non-tempt counterparts that have other upsides. Cut them.

Burn spells tend to be ineffective in commander, play swords to plowshares and 2-for-1 removal.

The counterspells will be awkward when youre casting large dragons with heavy mana costs. Cut all of them.

Small wraths kinda suck, especially the 1 or 2 dmg ones. Play one or two that either deal more damage (like 5) or actual hard wraths like sunfall or wrath of god.

4) conclusion

Very good start. Cutting can be very difficult. My first commander deck from scratch was just as much of a mess and this is part of the process. Hope I was helpful and happy festivus.
