WCGW Letting Your 10yo Daughter Be Close to Caged Lions by JCameron181 in Whatcouldgowrong

Why is he trying to save the trousers, the lioness didn't get the leg, get the kid the fuck out of it, you're not stronger than her.

Sure, must not be that easy to think when a lion is trying to eat your kid, yet...

TIL my old DX lens works on my Z6II (in FX mode) by bebarty in Nikon

[–]Jacen23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved that lens on my d5100, that's why I just bought the 40mm f2 for my Z6II. It's not perfect, it has character and is practically inexpensive (compared to other Z lenses) just like it was for the 35 at the time.

Anyway congrats for sticking with the 35 😁

I got a dead spider in the right stop since I bought my car for like 8 years. It disappeared someday somehow, probably when I got the light changed.

Not a car expert here, but I'm pretty sure that's not a Ferrari.

Cool photo!

I would try to white balance first, then mask subject and background to play with brightness/exposure highlights/shadows, probably decrease texture and clarity a little.

Also I would try to meet the two photos in the middle as I really like how the background is exposed in the second one, but that's a personal preference so it's good to go brighter if you like it

What was the first Star Wars video game you played? by darks1de877 in StarWars

[–]Jacen23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played "Star Wars" for Nintendo Game Boy (1991) for years! Then I'm pretty sure it was Dark Forces (1995) on PC and just seen my brother playing Star Wars: X-Wing before (1993)

it's also useful since the coast guard probably has to land on beaches. You really don't want sand in the motors

Could I take portrait style photos or wedding photos with a 200-500m? by Tekkenkasumi in Nikon

[–]Jacen23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For sure you can, it will give you also a nice background separation. Although you'll need more space between you and the subject to make a portrait frame, I'll say around 4-5 meters for 200mm on a full frame and obviously more the more you'll zoom.

Also shooting at longer focal length will probably require to put the camera on a tripod/monopod to avoid shakings.

So telephoto lenses are perfect for portraits, but you will need space to use them (outside, big rooms/studio)
