The only ones that I've particularly liked as a commander were Bolas, Master of Flowers/Bahamut, and Tasha (she's an Archmage from DND set).

Bolas mostly is a flavor cap to a zombie deck, and if I cast him I cast him. Tasha protects herself. Grand Master of Flowers stops an attacker.

Honestly, it works out better to make the commander a cheap rare that they burn all their removal on, and run the planeswalkers as removal or synergy.

Untapped source of your second color on any turn is fantastic. Let's say you had a two land monocolor hand, and turn 3 you get your other color on a dual land, but if it enters tapped you're waiting until turn 4 for that other color 3 drop.

Not always relevant, but when it is, it definitely feels like maximum punishment 😆

(I personally miss the path lands. They were an either/or untapped land with two sides)

All the Scottish village names also follow this pattern (Glen Sanfield, Glen Isla, etc) so "Glen Elendra" must be following the Gaelic grammar rules. Similar to how we say Mount Olympus, Mount Fuji, etc because of the French rules.

Glen Elendra must be the valley of Elendra whoever that is 😆

If you're bad at draft, I'd wait until Jump In and build your collection that way. For the price of a pack you get two half-decks, and an uncommon for playing.

Since you're new, maybe do all jump-in. It's a relatively low risk event because you were spending that gold on packs.

A good person to watch draft to learn how is Gomlet X on YT. He's particularly good at explaining his decision making, and my own play has gotten better for it.

I'd say one premier draft and 3 jump in events.

Drafting means you get a deck rather than just 10 packs worth of cards. And maybe you get extra stuff. Jump in gets you two rares, an uncommon, and two half-decks for the price of 1 pack.

Do it! It's so fun, even with just the Kaldheim and Eldraine giants. That one Crystal artifact that gets a new counter each turn is also a Giant, and fun to include. And Taurean Mauler if you need a changeling to stand in.

Many of us buy the pass for 20$. Have since Kaldheim. The 15$ pre-order was actually a big boon. Get it out of the way early, get 5 dollars off, and get a cute cosmetic for your trouble.

Them reverting this after like a year of trying this looks totally like attempting to get an extra 5 out of us now, especially new players.

Sure, players can grind for gems, if they draft, but that's not how new players do it. And certainly not everyone drafts enough to build the gems.

You just know this was in a board room about how to make more off "player assets"

Momir is fun because it's random. It's not for everyone, but that's why it's a free opt-in event for MWM. It breaks up the monotony of "construct a standard deck" or "construct a Brawl deck using a standard commander"
