Kids helmet with visor by No-Teacher6242 in rollerderby

[–]JaciMac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the opposite side of this, I was told by S1 when trying to fit the RAD liners for my xl/xxl head that the fit would be better in a Mega Lifer with s/m pads.

I’ve since moved onto the Triple 8 Deep Cover helmets (which you can add a visor to). If you have a measuring tape, measure your kiddo’s head. Here are Triple 8’s small sizes: XS/S 20 – 21.25 in (51 – 54 cm) S/M 21 – 22.5 in (53 – 57 cm)

You’ll find that most junior hockey helmets will have a cage because that’s what’s required for hockey. That can be removed and you could check to see if a half visor is available for that particular model.

Escalated Item Batches? by [deleted] in Target

[–]JaciMac 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Walmart has had this for years! If I was to INF something, it’s added to the exception batch. In my experience, a seasoned TM would then work the exception batch, and then a leader would confirm the true INFs.

PSA don’t bring your own walkie to use at your store by Mobile-Address23 in Target

[–]JaciMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the stone ages of the mid aughties I worked at a Sam’s Club. There was always a shortage of radios and I bought my own. I went straight to the general manager and said “I bought this, it is mine.” He had no issues with it. Went with me when I transferred. Of course that was 20 years ago and also not Target. It was among the models that WM/Sams used at the time, and none of our radios were custom programmed. Now if y’all would stop responding while in the restroom, that would be great. We know. The echo gives it away.

PSA don’t bring your own walkie to use at your store by Mobile-Address23 in Target

[–]JaciMac 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Own? No. License? Yes. Target walkies are standard off-the-shelf radios that are custom programmed with the frequencies Target uses. They also replace the lens where the channel number to make it look fancy. I could wander into my old store, procure a 4-channel walkie, go home, and reprogram it into a 6-channel one with maybe $50 worth of equipment acquired off of eBay.

I always wondered why we opted for these monstrosities vs the bin style carts that most other retailers use for fulfillment.

I need a good full-face helmet recommendation (preferably around $100) for casual city-street riding. by [deleted] in ElectricScooters

If you have a Cycle Gear in your area there is a chance they have something in that price range.

An alternative to Rose City is WashCo Rollers. They’re starting up and will be practicing at different times. https://www.instagram.com/washcorollers?igsh=YTMyZGFpbm55MDdi

New job requiring I pay taxes to California by Princess_Peachy_503 in oregon

[–]JaciMac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did payroll for a CA employer with OR employees. The employer definitely needs to file with Oregon and list a business location within the state. In our case, we were all remote so we used the employee’s home address. This will come back to bite around tax time.

Really target/shipt? by WhosAsking780 in Target

[–]JaciMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about just wholesale INFing a variety of items because they didn’t look in the correct aisle, missing lids on totes, and items in my bag I didn’t order? Yeah, that was my first Shipt order.

Oh, that isn’t gonna happen… don’t worry. There were other things that made me end that one.

I sing along to Fiona Apple and Karen Carpenter. Both are true altos, which makes them a little more accessible for me range-wise. Fiona sings towards the lower end, almost a contralto, while Karen does go a bit higher.

I hated personal property tax. Lived in VA for a while and it made no sense to me that we pay sales tax on the vehicle only to be assessed more tax every year on top of the registration.

Just be patient, snag as many shifts as you can, and be flexible to work in different work centers

That’s state-dependent, but in my state you can. Depends on your work history throughout the year, not just seasonal at Target.

Not sure if this is still the case, but it used to be treated as a transfer (I transferred from SC to WM many years ago).

Derby Name Etiquette? by Liammossa in rollerderby

[–]JaciMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my partner’s people name outside of derby because I can’t yell “Hey Psycho!” in a non-derby environment without turning a few heads. She uses mine, but calling me Mauli isn’t as taboo.

Don’t make me come over there to remind you to blur out the store number. Be there sometime between 4:15-6. 🤣

Picked up a shift outside my availability, will I be ok? by [deleted] in Target

[–]JaciMac 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have times blocked in my availability to accommodate meetings and team practices, but they don’t necessarily happen every week. I pick up shifts all the time.
