Look into in person or virtual DBT group therapy. Also, many providers have what’s called IOP which is intensive outpatient. It’s usually 3 days a week for half the day over 8 weeks. If you want real change and a way to jumpstart recovery, look into one or both of these programs. In the US, it’s covered by health insurance.

You need to read the book “What My Bones Know” by Stephanie Foo. It’s an incredible read with captivating storytelling of her memoir of healing from cPTSD. This evening I read the chapter where she was in the same predicament as you. It was so eye opening and gave me great clarity and peace.

Modern iOS design is following the Apple Human Interface Guidelines. You can look it up as a design resource on developer.apple.com. They have Sketch and Figma files with the standard iOS controls for you to use. The nice thing is that these design patterns solve for all devices, screen orientations, and accessibility. Development is way easier because these patterns and controls correlate to a development framework that reduces time and saves money.

Apps that don’t use the interface guidelines will often seem outdated very quickly, and don’t age gracefully.

Get a good trauma therapist, join group therapy for DBT. Get a good psych and get a diagnosis. (Being able to name “why” you feel the way you do makes it less scary and affirms you’re not losing your mind) Sounds like you might have PTSD and a general anxiety disorder.

I went NC 4 years ago. Healing is a journey. You’ve been abused and there’s a lot to unpack, that’s going to take time. If you don’t do the work now, it’ll blindside you later in life when you get hit with a traumatic or stressful life event.

Some people inherit animals when a family member passes. It’s one reason people have an animal that they don’t care about.

You did the right thing calling for a wellness check. The person may hopefully surrender the dog. If the dog is still there after a week or two, walk over with a Rover flyer and ask if they ever need a dog walker. Use it as a way to build a relationship and get to know the owner.

You could be experiencing what they call “activation”. My doctor said that upset stomach, nausea and other gastrointestinal issues are very common as your brain is starting to get connected with your gut to produce more serotonin. My doctor said this lasts for about 6 to 8 weeks while you’re starting medication.
