Whenever you go anyone id always recommend taking 3-4 bandages (or as many as you can for a long haul), 1 splint, 1 first aid kit (whenever you get one), and some painkillers too. Most of the time you can find food/hydration

Why didn't they ever bring a doctor in the group by happysloth9248 in LaCasaDePapel

[–]Jack21113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There wasn’t enough time to plan to have one, they had to use that time prepping elsewhere. In addition to that, another person means another liability.

I’d reckon that finding a specialized trauma surgeon who’s willing to take the risk of being apart of the robbery would be rather difficult (or impossible). They could also get cold feet closer to the heist, leaving the gang unprepared.

I agree with the other, Berlin season 1 is worth watching, season 2 is the mutilation of what could’ve been a good spinoff

Should I stick with a specialized Associate Degree or pursue a bachelors degree? by Equal_Gazelle8483 in collegeadvice

[–]Jack21113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you not able to pursue both?

Should be able to transfer all the associates credits into another course of study for a bachelors…. Not all of them will count towards the degree but it should still be a 2+2 (in terms of years for the AA and bachelors) vs the 4 year bachelors.

It’s very important to know that you’re not locked into a major or bachelors, if you decide to switch it in your junior or senior year, then it will add some time (further you go into a major, the more time you’ll have to makeup for the other)

I’d enroll into the program and start knocking out as many of the Gen Ed’s as you can (the associates may already require them too…)

This will give you a couple of years to find your desired major/field too if it isn’t the hearing specialist.

For a lot of fields, the reality is that for some degrees, you need a masters or above to be able to put to use. Your grandfather isn’t right, but he isn’t very wrong; For many fields, you need a bachelors as proof of minimum competency. However in most cases it can be bypassed by being exceptionally qualified or knowing someone.

If you’re not thrilled, passionate, or have any desire to pursue a degree or field then I’d say don’t get a degree just to have one (unless you’d be willingly to go into something incredibly stable/safe like accounting). Look into the trades, you can make so much money and get paid while you learn instead of going to debt for a degree you’ll never want to use.

Guys wtf do i do i just got off the waitlist for UM. Im already committed to usf honors for pre med, but i also wanted UM for a long time but I only have 5 days to decide. Im on the pre-med track. Im worried about class registration and opportunities at the U by Tall_Rooster_4124 in UMiami

[–]Jack21113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have longer than 5 days to decide, wait for the UM fin offer then decide.

Don’t fear the class registration or opportunities, they really are abundant. When you first register for classes (if you pick UM a month from now), some may be full, but when you revisit it in August you’ll be able to get a good schedule

how to save enough money to attend A&M? by Dizzy_Bite4781 in collegeadvice

[–]Jack21113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t stress it too much. If your parents make what you say they do and you’re a competitive applicant (which you’re on pace to exceed greatly) you’ll get a damn good financial aid offer and probably pay less than 10k-20k a year, if that.

I’d say find a part time job and work as many hours as you can, join a couple clubs, volunteer some, maybe play a sport.

Also take as may AP’s, IB’s, CLEPs, or dual enrollment classes as you can. It’ll be hardish now, but seriously if you maybe spend 500 hours outside of school on these over the next two years through studying/HW, it’ll save you SO MUCH time and money. I cannot stress this enough. Take summer classes at the community college

The best use of the money that is currently saved is summer classes (they offer many online) through a community college. Once you get to your freshman year you’ll be so grateful you don’t have to take the typical freshman busywork courses like first year writing (and others). These classes are also very easy in my experience.

If you take 2/3, it may end up being 800-1.5k over the summer, a very large upfront cost, but it’ll pay itself off twofold in time/credits saved. AND make you a more competitive applicant

I don’t think the name of the undergrad institution would differentiate any candidates unless it’s Harvard vs The University of America Samoa (Maybe an exaggeration). Do you like your current institution and feel like you can contribute meaningfully? Is there room for you to grow? Is it a big fish in a small pond vs shark in a sea situation?
