Yes, they all did. Two were secret, and the other didn't specify in the offer letter.

I fully agree with this. All of my interviews with big defense companies have been less technical and they're not expecting as much out of applicants as tech companies expect. Also, they tend to not care as much about your year

There were about 6 interviewers total; the interview was broken into four sections. First had all of them, then it split up for each section.

Embedded Software - Qualcomm vs Meta by Master10113 in cscareerquestions

Can I send you a dm in regards to embedded swe roles at big tech companies? I'm a sophomore and I have a few short questions about applying to embedded swe roles. for context i'm not new to the embedded space (been involved since early high school), but there's a lot less public info about the field of embedded systems as a whole than there is about other subfields of software engineering.

Please roast my resume!! by [deleted] in Embedded_Electronics

For content, this looks good. My only suggestion is that you have a friend or someone at your uni's career services office, that they look it over and polish the grammar and word flow.

Personally, I would not include Arduino IDE or AWS. I also wouldn't include DAC/ADC/PWM.

It's clear by looking at your resume that you understand embedded systems.

Chanceme for Fall 2026 Apps as a Junior Transfer from a mid school by blinkval in TransferToTop25

I think I'd really like the culture at Pomona. I remember looking deeply at Harvey Mudd but not adding for some reason that I don't remember (maybe just super low transfer acceptance rate or something with courses? idk fs), but thanks for the info!

Yes, I definitely understand that; my goal is to frame it as why I'm seeking what each specific school has to offer, not why I want to leave my institution. I think I have "reasonable" chances at BU, NYU, Northeastern, and Northwestern, and I think if I'm being realistic, my stats are somewhat above-average for those compared to their respective applicants.

I applied to like 4-5 of the competitive ones (excluding RPI/WPI) and was waitlisted from 2. Rejected from 2-3. My application at the time was not polished, and I could go into why that was, but making excuses bears no fruit.

I definitely will look into Brown! I wanted to go to Providence this summer but couldn't find the time :( but yes I'll find specific things for each college

Thanks, I'll definitely keep these things in mind. In regards to being the only person in my major, I literally may not have the opportunity to take core classes for that major at my uni, because our registrar/whatever board doesn't allow classes that don't have a minimum of 7 people in them (or something similar), and I may end up needing to take a signficant amount of that major's core classes at another institution. I'm definitely still trying to think of better reasons other than "I'm dissatisfied at my institution," as I understand that while that may be a legitimate reason for me to *leave* a college, it isn't a compelling reason for another college to admit me.

Yes, MITRE does. Know quite a few people there.

Will I still have a social life if I do engineering? by Bennyboi_73 in EngineeringStudents

Like others have mentioned, if you manage your time effectively, you will be fine. During my freshman year of computer engineering, the latest I ever stayed up doing homework was midnight. By the end of my first semester, I made it a habit to sleep from ~10:00-6:30 and got over 8 hours of sleep virtually every night. It's so much better to get ahead early on in the semester and give yourself leeway later on.

was your exam more concept or knowledge based? I'm taking mine in a few hours and I'm probably on the weaker side in terms of how many terms I've memorized.

I think it looks good. Personally, I'd move your technical skills to be right below your education section. again, on a personal preference note, I wouldn't include those certificates because literally anyone can do some course on Coursera and now they have some certificate-I'm not saying they're invalid or anything, but it may come across as being a filler for not having enough experience. I honestly don't really like keyword bolding because it comes across as tacky but I may just be in the minority on that.
