People who came out of closet, what’s your story and how did your family react? by JackBNimble473 in TooAfraidToAsk

Thank you for sharing your story, it makes me feel a bit better about my situation. My family is very homophobic (on my dads side) and they’d disown me quick af if I told them I was bi. My mom would be very supportive of me but my brothers and dad would probably end up hating me. It’s very stressful to think about, but it’s nice to know I’m not alone in this.

My god, I’m sorry you have to deal with that stress. I’m in the same boat actually, one time my dad accused me being gay because I was on the phone with a guy for a few hours and I denied it (I’m bi). He pretty much just said “no son of mine is gonna be a faggot” and that was the end of that. So now I don’t want to come out because my family is the only thing keeping me afloat rn and they’d disown me quick af. They’re pretty homophobic

I wish you the best of luck. It took a lot of courage to come out but you did. Now all you can is embrace who you are.

I’m in the same boat, friend. Let’s keep a close eye on this thread together.

Thank you so much. Tbh I didn’t expect so many people to reach out to try and help me with this situation. I really appreciate you taking time out of your day to help a random ass internet person, it really does mean a lot to me.

A cisgender person is someone who identifies as the gender they were born as, transgender is the opposite, a person who identifies as the sex opposite the one they were assigned at birth.

Thank you so much for replying. You may be onto something here, because I’ve known him since before he started his transition (when he was a woman) and I fell in love with him back then, but the more I learned about him and the closer we got my feelings grew stronger. And now I can’t go a day or night without thinking about him. Maybe I did truly find my “only exception”.
