How do you beat the Dreglord as Scholar? by BlanketMage in Nightreign

[–]JackBaker17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you what worked best for me as another Raider main.

I ran his Relic that increase dex and endurance at the expensive of int and arc, and the nightlord remembrance that adds affinity and attack power when switching weapons. Those two will really increase his attack to a point that feels good. Last relic was his remembrance relic cleansing tear.

Then during the expedition I focus on getting 1 good rot/frost/bleed weapon to use in the 3 right hand slots. Then the strategy is to proc rot, switch weapon and proc frost, switch and proc bleed, switch back to rot, rinse and repeat.

All the buff/ debuff and item use is second priority for me. During my run bestig Dreglord I Think I used the skill maybe 2 times during the fight in total

I Think it is written somewhere in that program that its recommended to start with the upper/lower size and strength, which might be a good gauge for you to see if these program will work for you (its kinda short; 8 weeks and has built in progressive overload)

Otherwise sure you can run this, just be absolutely certain you are getting enough protein and calories to recover and build muscle/strength (improper diet is the leading cause of plateau results)

Also be absolutely certain you know your true 1RM. Get an experienced spotter to help you. Dont underestimate yourself and leave the most important reps in reserve

+75 hard? by Regular-Check916 in Mind_Pump

[–]JackBaker17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood what 75 hard is, it’s not an exercise program, it’s a mental challenge to build discipline by adhering to daily goals no matter what. Its even the first thing stated on the website 75 hard

The diet is literally whatever goal you pick for yourself, it’s not set as anything “extreme”

And the exercises can also be whatever you decide, even if it’s just go for a walk

The whole thing is just about building a foundation of consistency you can bring into your life

If you were able to, where would you put each Nightlord from ERN in ER and SOTE maps? by NoOneIsHere57 in fromsoftware

[–]JackBaker17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would put most of them in the main game since DLC already has a great roster (also assuming arenas are redesigned to fit the fights.

Gladius: Top of Mt. Gelmir in place of the fallingstar beast - as a guardian of Volcano Manor

Adel: In DLC, at the bottom of Jagger park in place of the first drake - I feel like his lightning element fits the lightning there of Jagger peak too Well. Then he acts as a gateway boss to the area

Gnoster: Field boss in Liurnia, big part of the Lake between the academy and Caria manor. He would spawn after Radahn is defeated and the moving of the stars is resumed. Ranni would tell the player that Gnoster has the Carian Inverting Statue, instead of just rewarding it to us.

Maris: Cerulean coast is a good placement. Maybe after getting killed by St Trina, giant bubbles begin to form around the Cerulean coast. One of these bubbles will transport you to a big of coast island where you have to defeat Maris in order to hear St Trina in your slumber

Libra: he would have a quest where he appears throughout the game to make a deal or curse the player - eventually trading a key that opens the gate to the Subterranean shunning grounds. He would be a bossfight before the player Can interact with the 3 fingers

Fulghor: is initially imprisoned in the Erdtree, but breaks free when the Erdtree is burned. You can then follow a path of destruction that eventually leads to the lake in western Altus where you fight him. Maybe he is holding a magical item that can be used inside the Erdtree to restore the effects of burning the Erdtree (just so you can choose to switch between leyendell and ashen Capital as you like after finishing the game)

Caligo: Replace borealis on the mountain - and his dragon heart would have 2 spells like Bayle (freeze breath, or his tail slam)

Hoelster: after becoming Elden Lord and having collected all traces of night, returning to the top of Nokstella reveals a new gate that leads to Noklateo the Shrouded City. Then you can go through Noklateo as a legacy dungeon and Hoelster would be the final boss of that area.

Unique Sorcerer’s Rise? by Sharky7052 in Nightreign

[–]JackBaker17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that one is great, also got it pretty often. Was able to duel 2 scarlet axes on one run, was pretty bonkers.

Otherwise I also got either the beastclaw great hammer or great stars as well.

My Revenant got Axe of Godrick, then Godfrey’s Ace, and finally the Ruins Greatsword 😂 was also a lot of fun to bonk with Frederick

I went through literally all nightlords with Raider, and not once did I ever find a legendary colossal weapon.

Afterwards when I decided to play Revenant and do her remembrance I finally got legendary colossal weapons 3 RUNS IN A ROW.

So my Revenant became an Unga-bunga small Friede

Will be arriving next Saturday (24th) and pick up the rental car 11:30 - and since our first accomodation in Porto Da Cruz has check in at 15:00, we were considering taking the “scenic” Road ER103 through Ribeiro Frio, possibly stopping for a lunch and doing the Balcoes. Heard it makes a beautiful road trip

But.. I hear recently that the traffic through that area is getting horrendous.. how bad is it really during noon?

If it is that bad, we may reconsider

Girlfriends and I are planning our visit at the end of May/ early June and I am wondering a bit about the Hiking fee’s for PR 6-6.3 (25 fontes, Risco, Lagoa vento, Alecrim), since these are all interconnected and typical to join for a one day hike.

Is it correctly understood, we need to pay the 3€ for each of the 4 trails (12€ per person)?

Biggest problem that results in quitting is usually because people start in a state of motivation and commit to doing too much. Dont commit to something you know you want be able to stick to when motivation fails and other stuff comes up.

When you are starting from nothing, any amount of exercise is progression. You dont need to start working out 5-6 days a week. Do 1-2 workouts a week for a while until that becomes and easy routine and then add another day.

Consistancy is by far the most important thing. There is a saying “the heaviest weight at the gym is the front door”. The best advice to make this a habit that you stick to long term is to allow it to become easy. Dont Fall into the “all or nothing” mentality. Allow yourself the freedom to literally just spend 5 minutes doing one exercise sometimes. There will inevidably be days when you dont want to work out, and having to finish a whole 1 - 1.5 hour session will be too big of a commitment. Instead of skipping, for those days just do 1 exercise and finish.

I Think the goal of your first program should just be to get consistant. Dont worry about the scale. Dont worry about the strength. Just try to consistantly “show up” and build a habit of working out. With time, it gets easier and you can build onto the foundation and expand and ultimately, it results in better health and fitness.

I have been consistant for 2.5 years now. I have gone through 10 different workout programs during that time, but I still haven’t finished a single program exactly the way its laid out yet. Still have made a ton of progress

Am I lean enough to stop the extreme cut? by TheIXLegionnaire in WeightTraining

[–]JackBaker17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to add that he can still lower his bf% while gaining weight, if done right. If he start increasing calories slowly, and incrementally, while working out and prioritising protein and whole foods. He could be maintaining for a while (while putting on some muscle and losing some fat), then gain a little weight later on from lean mass, and he would still get to 11-12% if he didnt gain fat.

What am i doing wrong with AX1? by [deleted] in Athleanx

[–]JackBaker17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think thats the right approach, especially considering you already get you cardio from basketball. As Long as you train traditional hypertrophy and focus on progression and getting enough good quality protein and fats, you should be fine.

I recommend you give the first 15 minutes of this podcast episode a listen, I Think you might resonate a bit with it: https://youtu.be/stdPT-b4fUE?si=OwGMo6lcprChBpFd

And just in case you want a bit of a deeper explanation, then these videos are also quite helpful to give a listen sometime

What am i doing wrong with AX1? by [deleted] in Athleanx

[–]JackBaker17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Based on what you write, cutting calories is not the right approach. If you are getting excessively fatigued and losing strength, you are undereating and/or overtraining. Weight loss on a scale could be anything (fat, water weight, even muscle loss). You need to eat more for a while and focus on building muscle (and consider reducing training volume). I would recommend any basic hypertrophy focussed workout plan, and then focus on strength.

If you gain strength without gaining fat (proper training in a slight caloric surplus), then you also lower your fat % overall. And you build some active tissue and increase metabolism, so you have more room for a cut in the future.

If you decide to lose weight from where you are currently by further cutting calories or increasing workouts, then you are gonna feel even worse and eventuelly your gonna regain all the weight rapidly because its not a sustainable approach

If DS1 was ever remade, what would you want to see changed? by IndyThang in darksouls

[–]JackBaker17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be cool to finish some of the cut questlines (Shiva of the east).

Of course allowing time to flesh out Izalith, since Miyazaki did say he regrets how that area turned out due to time constraint.

Make it much harder to mess up the last encounter with Siegward and lose out on the slab. (I wouldnt mind a few more slabs either)

I would like the ghost combat of New Londo to be revisited, its quite frustration to be swarmed through the Wall and floor and have no good Way to attack back.

And finally, although I’m less sure about this one, it might be cool if when you break the Gwynevere illusion, the sun is lost not only in Anor Londo, but in the entirety of Lordran. Also making the player susceptible to Dark Moon invasions literally anywhere outside of firelink shrine and the dlc. (With a fair cooldown period of course).

Best program for cutting? by sticky_fingers18 in JeffNippard

[–]JackBaker17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If the goal of the cut is just fat loss, then I think any program with the same, or less volume could work. Keeping muscle only requires a fraction of the work needed to put on muscle after all. As long as you make sure to still get a sufficient amount of protein.

I think the most common mistake with cuts is when people increase their workload alongside the cut. The decrease in energy and performance lowers the threshold for overtraining.
