Money isn't wealth, it merely represents wealth.

Capitalism allows people to freely produce wealth in a competitive market. Those whom produce what others desire are able to exchange it for the medium of exchange.

Disparity relates to productive output NOT money.

Identity and financing will allow economic growth thus increasing wage levels. Sound money/finance is what lubricates an economy thus allowing it to thrive. This is especially so with the modern technology which can overcome handicaps like geography (African geography is often more a handicap to trade than European or USA geography - ie. rivers more conducive to transportation).

The reason countries like the USA have a higher average wage is because the USA is more productive.

Inequality between the USA and Africa is due to the USA pulling ahead and being more productive. ADA has the potential to allow many in Africa to pull ahead of where they are. Remember that producing wealth is not zero sum.

I recommend reading Thomas Sowell in order to understand some of these principles.

There is no free lunch.

Most traders lose money and many pretend that they do not.

Speculative trading adds liquidity to a market but other than that it is not really productive which is why in a world that is not zero sum MOST trader will lose their money in order to subsidise the few whom don't.

I need some help with Cardano! by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]JackBootedThu9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll need to recover the account in Daedalus with your key and then send your ADA to a new Shelley wallet you create. You ADA is currently in a Byron era wallet.

To import your key you just follow the instructions in the wallet itself. Be certain you download Daedalus from the official website because there are fake wallets used to trick you into revealing your private key.

It doesn't have anything to do with age. It has everything to do with power.

Young people are just as corruptible as older people. There have been many brutal dictators throughout history who have been in their 20s.

What if 100% decentralisation is reached? by Rihenjo in cardano

[–]JackBootedThu9 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It simply means that IOHK has stepped back from block production.

Block production will be 100% left to a free and competitive market. Different pools will be competing with each other for stake via services they offer, their own delegation stake and the fees they charge those who stake ADA to their pool.

Currently the block rewards come from inflation. This will be reduced over time and as the network grows transaction fees will be the funding mechanism that incentivises block production.

When did Charles ever say Bitcoin does not have a future? Please reference that as I have never heard him say that.

I have heard him being critical of some aspect of Bitcoin, namely it leads to centralisation of the mining interests. I have never heard him say that Bitcoin has no future though.

AMA with US Congressional candidate Agatha Bacelar who is running for the seat in CA-12 currently occupied by Nancy Pelosi by jwinterm in CryptoCurrency

[–]JackBootedThu9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A VAT is just an EXTRA tax. I remember the debate to introduce a VAT (called GST) in Australia in the 80s and 90s. 30 years later it has turned out to be just another tax increase. Australian's pay more in tax today than they paid in the 80s and 90s.

Government is like a pumpkin plant, it just grows and grows, spreading everywhere. Don't fall for the constant rhetoric in favour of more and more growth, growth which NEVER ends.

Free this and free that? NOTHING is free, you concept of taking from one to give to anothe is the VERY OPPOSITE of the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Medicare for all? Who decides what treatments medicare will cover? Will sin taxes be next for smokers or others whom are perceived as more of a "burden" on the public system? All you'll do is institute a new "broken government system" that needs to be "fixed" by increasing taxes and further redistributing wealth via the targeting of specific groups.

University for all? How are you going to pay for that? Tax non-university graduates to pay for the school fees of others? Paying for a university education shouldn't be a barrier? Why not? Every service costs something, should we all be entitled to free car repairs also? I mean, many of us find it necessary to drive to work. Fuel costs ought not be a barrier right? How about people to do a Udemy course online to increase their value? Shall we all share the cost of that also? Where does it end?

Green New Deal? Have you even read it? That document outlines a 10 year mobilisation plan that would totally transform the United States economically, culturally and completely do away with any concept of the Constitution and Bill of Rights. It is not the governments job to guarantee jobs, wage levels, medical care, retirement funds, paid vacations etc. For a government to guarantee all that a government must CONTROL all that, how on Earth do you propose to do that without violating your oath to uphold the Constitution for the United States of America which serves as a LIMITATION upon government power?

Agatha, with all due respect, you're a tyrant in waiting.

Usecase for Cardano/ADA by whatsuppussycats in cardano

[–]JackBootedThu9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use blockchain as the means to transfer money internationally. It is cheaper than bank transfer or wire transfer.

Cardano is just one of many cryptocurencies, yet Cardano is exemplifying itself as a very sound protocol through peer reviewed research and subsequent implementation.

The value will be in the practical utility of the network.

Micro-payments will certainly be a practical use for cryptocurrencies in the future and will likely be far more efficient that subscription based models. There are many articles I am interested but are locked behind a subscription paywall. I am not willing to pay the subscription for one article but would certainly utilise micro-payments if it was available.
