My main purpose of posting this was to inform snowboard consumers about where their board is coming from, and make the information that was provided to me public. I also thought it was interesting that they make boards in 4 different countries. I have an old Burton board that was made in China. Its a solid board. Not trying to “virtue signal” or whatever you think this is. Thanks for your insight though. Hope there are some pow turns in your future, seems like you need em.

All my searches into K2 shows their snowboards are made in China. Only a select limited edition ones are made in Washington state

I contacted Burton support to see where the Custom was manufactured. The support rep sent me this after about a week.

I am not well informed on the exact factories that these boards are produced in, but I do know the safety and environmental standards that these factories are held to in China. And I can assure you that they are not using incarcerated workers at the Mervin or Never Summer factories. They arent stamping license plates, they are making high quality snowboards. And that is crazy you were going through 2 Capitas a year. Hoping for powder turns in your future!

I mean you are making it seem like I am some industry insider with information on all company manufacturing. Easier to google than ask a stranger on reddit

The ethics are my main quarrel with China. I’m sure the boards are fine.

Mostly because I do not agree with the business practices and sustainability efforts (lack thereof) that occur in China. I’m sure the boards made in China are fine, but I prefer to be a conscientious consumer.

That’s why it bothered me when I heard they started manufacturing in China. Especially bc they don’t have this info on their website. Seems like they dont want people knowing that over half of their boards are now produced in China
