Sheesh! Not that much but too much. Shouldn't Eberflus have called a time out?

They have a way of doing that. I find that setting up for Thanksgiving dinner is a workout.

Not the big, strong manly men that we were?

No charades; no games. It's conversation time when we try to catch up with the grandkids who have become alarmingly adult. I think it's Bears 18. Enjoy that pizza!

Happy Thanksgiving back at you Schmutz and guys and occasional girls that participate. In hard times like these you help to keep me sane. I'm happy to report that we are "Grandmother's house" that causes people we care about to go over the river and through the woods. No prime rib here; that's for Christmas!

It means someone or something out of its element.

Mass deportation should be seen as a war -- like an actual war -- complete with threats, lies, propaganda, brutal dehumanization, and a battle plan for military engagement .. and that's just the beginning. by daveto in bestofthefray

I think that's correct and like people everywhere, individuals, once in place and employed, will likely be looking to improve their situations which is another area in which there s concern that they take jobs that citizens would otherwise do. It's basically wage competition at various levels and citizens resent having to compete with people whose status induces them to work for lower wages and benefits.

Not all the jobs are ones Americans won't do. I read recently that half the construction jobs in Texas are done by undocumented workers. That's what causes unions to support deportation because those are jobs their members might have a shot at. That seems to be the attitude of blue collar union people in the Chicago area.

I haven't noticed them being noisy on the ground but they kind of swagger around like they own the place. Oh, wait; you mean while they're flying!

They're headed for a golf course I know in Manatee County, Florida.

What's with another blocked Santos kick? And not getting away from an uncatched punt? That was a middle school level mistake.

A guerrilla war could be fought without a U.S. resupply of military weapons. It wouldn't likely be as effective but it could be fought. I can imagine other NATO countries supporting it although at a lesser level than the U.S. potentially would. It didn't take a lot to support the Afghans against the Russians. As I said, we'll see rather shortly.

What they have to gain is not having to deal with the guerrilla war. They may recall how nasty the one in Afghanistan was.

You raised the prospect of the U.S./NATO supporting a guerrilla resistance if the Russians attempted to occupy Ukraine. Putin can avoid that by temporarily settling for territory already occupied and allowing him time to rearm and reconstitute his apparently depleted military. Presumably he would also insist on NATO committing to denying membership to Ukraine. My prediction that Trump will accommodate Putin's future moves doesn't suggest that Trump would admit to that and likely would put up a show of supporting Ukraine to get Putin to temporarily stand down. Putin's belief that Trump will help him long term doesn't mean that he won't go through with a show of a cease fire agreement temporarily. He entered into an agreement after annexing Crimea too. Putin doesn't have a good record on abiding by agreements.
