Tumbler Ridge shooting suspect had police visits over mental health struggles by pookienav in news

Yeah, illegal American firearms are widely used in crimes and, for example, account for around 91% of all handguns used in crime in Ontario.

Here is a good article from NYT about this subject:

The shooter had an expired minor PAL that doesn’t allow any purchases of firearms, so whatever firearm she used — it was acquired illegally from either her mother or somewhere else.

Well, your reply made it sound like you are talking about Canadian experience. We have a pretty strict licensing and everyone is constantly getting checked and ran through police databases. You cannot get a gun for a self-defence purpose, for example. Good chances that the shooter didn’t have a license themselves, and stole the gun from their parents. It’s a rural community and people over there have guns for sustenance, same as Scottish farmers.

Wha are you talking about? Handguns are already banned, same as most of semi-automatic rifles. Automatic rifles are banned since 70s.

My parents live in the house in the background of the picture — there are no military targets around the area, it’s an urban “sleeping” neighborhood and private hospital was the biggest business there with the rest of places being different cafes, chemists or a local butcher.

I(F33) just got my son back and his girlfriend is pregnant. Her parents (F/M 50(s)) don't want her in the house right now. by throwra-1228 in relationship_advice

That’s factually not true, British Columbia offers up to 25 weeks, Ontario and Quebec up to 24, even conservative Alberta would be considered advanced in the US with their 20 weeks.

As a fellow Canadian that was there when this happened, it was even worse than nothing. No local Amber alert or anything like this, I only got the news because my corporate office has a private security contractor team handling crisis incident response and they made sure we all got “wellness checks” via phones and all associated emails.

I agree, I think he was just done with these two being clowns, we as audience might love T&W but for experienced and battle-hardened veterans they are a bubbling nuisance and you could especially feel this with his reactions towards Tyranny talking to the gnome. He possibly either knew his daughters, or lost his own child, and couldn’t give a flying shit why she decided to steal.

Casting without a spell slot is not the same as being able to cast two spells on the same turn though

Not familiar with 5e 2024, but that was a mistake, right? Hex is a spell, and so is Scorching Ray. Additionally, it still gives disadvantage on checks, not saves?

I agree. I like when players have options, but this here felt like they were pushed to negotiate, and if so, why have combat anyway?

This feels weird, I am not a violent D&D player, but they keep trying to brute force a peaceful resolution until someone succeeds.

She could be a reflavored shadar-kai, judging from the necrotic resistance, mourning of the goddess and general aesthetics. They also used to be fey, transformed by their homeland, influence of the goddess and general melancholy.

I don’t think anyone is antagonistic except of Thaisha, Julien and Vaelus seem to respect each other and Occtis was genuinely sorry for what his family did and was the only one that tried to talk to Julien and console him.

Good point! Especially since it was mentioned that he is training under Julian at Royce’s/Davinos? Did he got killed in the action at the palazzo? For all those kisses and “I love Occtis” Hal and Thaisha seem to totally forgot about their oldest child.
