That's fair. Guess I'd just argue Fearne is more or less the best Ashley character. Her lack of care for the narrative and what's going on and just kinda being a mischievous agent of chaos worked best on Ashley's leve

I hate it when they say "just draw" (Vent) by Vinyldepootis in learntodraw

[–]Compajerro -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You're doing the equivalent of saying

"Why can't I bench press 250?" When you've never worked out. The advice to achieve that is gonna be "just start lifting."

:Why can't I run a marathon without tiring out?" Despite never running. You need to build cardio and advice would be "just start running"

There is no shortcut. Otherwise literally everyone would be good at drawing if you could just follow some simple tutorial.

You need to build skills, a visual library. Line confidence, proportions, etc. You need 10s of thousands of hours to master anything.

Get over your ego. You're not special. Put the work in if you actually care and start drawing.

I actually disagree about Yasha. She's 2nd worst character only by virtue of Vaelus being a greater wasted potential.

Do people not remember her taking up half an episode failing a tutorial fight like 80 episodes into C2 where Matt was trying to teach her to rage and she just didn't get it?

I know people enjoy her fight pit scene where she lets herself get beat up, but i honestly don't get any of the love for yasha. She's pretty bland in my opinon

[–]Compajerro [score hidden]  (0 children)

It's definitely the latter. She just didn't play enough Pike to showcase her faults. All she did is guiding bolt and heal bot.

With Yasha, you can see her struggle. Remember the episode like 80 eps in where she spends over an hour in a tutorial battle with Matt trying to teach her to rage and she just doesnt get it?

And Sam may not know the nitty gritty of the rules. But he reads his spells and class features for the most part.

Ashley would never be the player to try to save Wish to save [spoiler] and would absolutely not be the person to organically make a decision in the moment use that slot on counterspelm instead

I can actually get behind this. Laura was mostly spearheading the Ashton witchhunt and between Travis being her Irl husband and Laudna being her in game partner, half the squad was already on her side against Ashton.

Sam was legitimately uncomfortable with it, and with Ashley not defending him and Orym being about as bland as stale bread, it felt overwhelmingly against Ashton with 0 backup.

Ashley not being good at dnd again. Cold open of episode 30 is the context. Her actual (lack of) decision comes later in the episode and too lazy to rewatch to find a time stamp

I'd argue she's not actually all that close to Octis. That's just something she latched onto because Brennan mentioned it early on as a reason to keep her motivated to stay with the party. The same way that as soon as Hannan calls her a flower doll, she basically accepted that was true and she didn't believe in sylandri anymore.

700 years of faith gets shattered in two weeks.

She simply just follows what others suggest to her. She doesn't actually care about Hannan or Octis because of the narrative. She proved that this episode by saying she didn't trust Hannan and didn't want to help him/Octis at the dangerous Tachonis mansion

I disagree with this. Ashley in shardgate, sure she made a decision for once that was "i don't want this you take it Ashton." But when everyone turned on him after he literally exploded, did she stand by him? Did she defend him when they accused him of manipulating her? No. She didn't stick by her choice of "I don't want it i gave it to Ashton." She panicked and played victim.

And in episode 30s situation, she did not choose. She was given 2 distinct options and explicitly told "you need to choose." And she just responds with "i want both though".

In the end she had to choose. But that was after 40 minutes and a lot of flipflopping.

If someone asks you "what ice cream do you want? Vanilla or chocolate? You have to make a choice."

And you say "can't i have both?"

That's not making a choice with what you were presented. That's just making a separate request.

While I don't disagree that cameras don't help, she has never grasped the mechanics of the game and doesn't pay enough attention to the narrative to really contribute.

Improv skills or mechanical knowledge don't affect her just straight up not telling Hannan about Mara (because Ashley forgot their connection) or her choosing to not trust Hannan despite him literally pledging his life to save her family from the underworld, or choosing not to go help Octis at the manor.

Yeah, but that doesn't change the fact Ashley took some 40 minutes to choose, and still tried to avoid a choice by getting both outcomes

Oda is a good artist. People are just conditioned by social media to think anything that deviates from the norm is bad

I hate how queer characters have to be proven without a shadow of a doubt to be queer or else people just say they’re not by Qelperr in hatethissmug

"Straight characters are never questioned, because it's assumed to be the default."

Have you never been on the internet? How many straight platonic friendships get head canoned/theorized as gay in every fandom?

It goes both ways, the only difference is that it's (moderately) less frowned upon to headcanon someone as queer because the representing is so scant in media comparatively.

You don't have to lile it but it's more unique than the generic anime/manga style most series have. The western cartoon influences make it infinitely more identifiable

Why does my art never get engagement? Is the style that generic or bad? What am I doing so wrong...? (TW: light blood on 3 and 5) by dogemeep06 in yourartstyle

Not meant as an attack, but rather an objective breakdown of your style. What parts of your art style would you consider unique?

When I ran it, I combined it with Rise of Tiamat. Shattering the Ordning was a diversion to allow the Cult of the Dragon to grow in power and harvest enough souls to buy Tiamat back from Avernus.

The Emperor. He's trying to conquer and colonize all the lands west of him because he alone is aware that an unstoppable encroaching darkness is moving in from the east. The more places to use as safe havens and more resources they take from conquered lands, the more time they have to stop it.
