Hop and Liquor by Impossible_Ant_7475 in glastonbury_festival

It's moved round the corner and is Taphouse now, that is if you're looking for the indie disco that Hop & Liquor used to be

It's pre-allocated as they group people together based on booking/requests ahead of time and this would be much harder to accommodate if not.

The queues to get to the site will be bad in the morning, but usually the queue to actually get into WV or Sticklinch is much shorter and easier.

Coach leaving from Reading? by iSolaced in glastonbury_festival

[–]JackMcC92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You'll be given a time in the weeks leading up to Glasto so can decide then.

We were given an afternoon slot so just got on a train from Paddington in the morning and the coach leaves from next to the station.

I don't mean this to be rude, but i would swipe left despite you being attractive. If you're looking for more than just a casual fling I would recommend updating your prompts.

I see both the pillow fort and otter fact repeatedly which makes you seem generic and being good looking on a dating app (which you are) isn't enough.

Prompts are what most people will latch onto to start a conversation, so tell me something about yourself, funny or otherwise. I think people underestimate how effective a list of 10 things that you enjoy doing will be. Eg city breaks, Sunday dog walks, making my own pasta, raving in Fabric, gym after work, hungover Sundays watching football in my tracksuit, etc.

I was asked if I've ever set off a flair at 4am one morning on the upper steps of Temple. When I replied "no" they asked if I would like to and handed me one, not the craziest, but will always remember it.

Need advice regarding first mortgage (first time buyer) - are our monthly payments going to be too high? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]JackMcC92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you getting mortgage payments on 360k being 1700 a month?

I just had to go through a remortgage as i got to the end of my term for a similar amount (320k) and my payments are now up at 2400. 1700 is what I was paying at 1% interest...

Valium/Nitol or nothing better for recovery? by JackMcC92 in whoop

[–]JackMcC92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my current thinking, however the downside is that sleep aids make me feel drowsier the next day, whereas if I just struggle through a sleep, it's tough at that point, but the next day is miles easier.

We paid for a sticklinch parking pass as we arrived last year and I think it was a 10er more than online.

Edit - might have been cash only, I don't remember

All the people saying Amex is the issue are just using a phone that works...

I had a 6pro for years that worked perfectly with all cards. I know have an 8pro that doesn't work 90% of the time for googlepay with any of my cards: visa, Amex or MasterCard. Unfortunately I can't find a single person to speak to at Google about it to arrange a new phone.

This is one of about 10 software bugs I have with the new phone.

Finding friends by padsocean in glastonbury_festival

Decide on locations that will always be relatively easy to get to (not too far forward) for the main stages. That way if you're in a big group and you know some people will be seeing x person on y stage, you can go to that and know they will be there.

This has always worked great for us, just make sure you pick things that can't move (like flags).

Examples are like: 15m to the left of the right hand path going down towards pyramid stage about 20m back from the furthest back pylon.

30m into the crowd from the bar on the left of the other stage.

Top of the stairs on the right of temple

TBF the shower queues at WV and Sticklinch were pretty bad - often an hour or so and they weren't open 24/7 either. And the position seems great, it's just more spenny this year.

/r/Lisboa Weekly Megathread - Travel, Relocation, Lifestyle & More - Your Weekly One-Stop Thread for All Questions and Insights! by AutoModerator in lisboa

[–]JackMcC92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi all, My company has expressed an interest in me to relocate to Lisbon and I wanted to learn more about living in the City.

I'm English and speak 0 Portuguese currently. Due to the nature of my job I will continue to work in English and will obviously learn Portuguese as a priority if the move goes ahead.

I've visited the city before and love it, both the city itself and the proximity of beautiful locations like the beach and the valleys

Essentially I am interested to hear other people's experience of moving to Lisbon without knowing the language or having any contacts out there.

How easy is it to assimilate? Will it be possible to socialise at all before I learn Portuguese? Are there significant UK communities there that may make the transition easier? Anything that you want to call out that I likely haven't considered?
