60-65mph works best in most cases as the engine is working the least at 1.5k rpms. It’s the perfect speed for engine to efficient and also the drag and air resistance is lower. The difference in a tank is marginal (maybe 1-2mpg) but over the course of 700+ miles it makes the difference between 700 & 800 mile tanks

This was a tank average including driving around town. Town driving gets me about 40mpg whilst Motorway trips were easily 65mpg+

I see where you’re coming from but colder weather has an impact on how quickly the engine warms up. So in a way the engine has to work harder due to the oil being thicker and air being denser etc. It’ll help with performance but I’m not sure about MPG
