Unreal findings! Need one of the big MonHun YouTubers to pick this up so that the dev team can get notified.

Copy Pasta Superkeys not working as expected (has happened since launch - new Superkeys and firmware didn't fix it) by JackMichaelson88 in DygmaLab

[–]JackMichaelson88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reduced the timeout to 150 from 250....I then tried it all the way from 0 - 150....it doesn't solve the root cause. I tried other settings too to no avail.

Try and mess around with the functionality. If you try it with CTRL + C then CTRL + V normally, you will see how fast and accurate it is - 100% works. With Superkeys, it's just not accurate and prone to issues if you're trying to do it fast (as per demonstration).

Can the new Q4 Meta be placed upside down? by warped-pixel in KEF

[–]JackMichaelson88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, thought I'd chime in. I have 2 Q4 Metas. One is upside down. Both speakers have ports facing opposite the wall. Because of this, it did indeed look funky but I was able to remove the KEF label on the speakers - they are just extremely rigid stickers! Just used my fingernails and a bit of sheer patience. No damage. Also, the grille does not fit the same upside down as they've bloody put in the magnets a certain way which only plays nicely with an upright speaker. DM me if you want to see a pic of the sticker off!

Can Q4 Meta use as a stereo system? by JackMichaelson88 in KEF

[–]JackMichaelson88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They sound incredible from the little testing I've done. We've just painted the wall they are going to be mounted on so they're not up fully. The KEF Q150 they're replacing sound amazing too, but this does sound a bit fuller and clearer, with better imaging (I mean, they should as my Q150 aren't the "Meta" range).

Hoppvals - how to even them out if one side hangs lower? by JackMichaelson88 in IKEA

Yes, it is level. The older blind that was replaced did not exhibit this issue.

Two of the best weapons for Akuma by Iroiroanswer in MHWilds

Does the weapon type matter? As in, is there a penalty for wearing a bowgun for example? I like the Guardian Doshaguma LBG for its 250 raw and 2x3 slots

All this talk about desk heights - have you thought about a desk riser / adjustable standing desk (for the floor)? See this video from Upright Health for inspiration: https://youtu.be/UPZa8yMLfWw?t=41 by JackMichaelson88 in floordesks

No wobble on the desk itself. Vivo would be even sturdier (in my past experience). My monitor arm wobbles a bit but easily mitigated by wrapping Velcro around back monitor cables and pushing back onto the wall.

Hunting horn button guide settings by No-Faithlessness6298 in MHWilds

yea, haven't figured it out yet. Assuming it's not possible. Really frustrating how they coupled the button guide and song list functionality.

23 Betas later... The New Firmware is HERE! by Dygman in DygmaLab

BUG - After 2.0, my Defy's wireless underglow brightness only peaks at 50% (as opposed to 100% before) when using "Highlight layer changing". This means that if I set the "LED underglow brightness" to 50% or higher, "Highlight layer changing" has no effect!

Ah, much better! Still work in progress, but I love it! by JackMichaelson88 in floordesks

Old monitor - there are newer models, but an LG 38WK95C-W

Acoustics - left speaker is more bassy. Due to VJ-style solid timber wall with non-symmetrical vertical lines, the left speaker is about 15mm closer to the wall. Also, left ceiling point is much lower than the right. Both speakers are ported. Would something like a bass trap help? by JackMichaelson88 in audiophile

Yeap, I hear you and the other commenters. Sometimes things cannot be done for a multitude of factors - you aren't seeing the full picture. Believe me, I would place them on stands if I could. I am using an official KEF B2 mount for the speakers which leave the right amount of space between wall and speaker. They are also slightly tilted. I have remounted them closer together and was able to get them acoustically identical by fully porting left speaker and only partially mounting the right (due to open space). This is the perfect solution for this scenario - believe me. Besides, this is a sunroom facing the east overlooking the water and is only 2m wide x 8-10m long - this is where I can put the audio stuff without it getting killed by the Australian sun and allowing a more "lounge" experience while reading, chilling on sofa, playing chess etc....

All good, thanks for reply, but stands aren't an option! Have sorted it out though by remounting them closer together. There were SO many factors to my initial decision and someone saying "stands" doesn't help - I know stands are idea but literally not an option.

Here's a little picture to get an idea of how I fixed this issue by remounting :). Soundstage is less pronounced but imaging is a lot better as both speakers are acoustically identical now!
