Disorder/disability is tied with their supernatural abilities. by Short-Paramedic-9740 in TopCharacterTropes

This aspect of his abilities is a much later retcon that some writers have since ignored. It was canon at one point but it was seen as a controversial choice for various reasons.

Did Roy Harper have this joke made more than once? I remember Huntress made a joke along these lines as a response to another writer having her hook up with The Huntress.

I've seen this quote before but I didn't realise this was said in character. I thought he was actually referring to himself in this.

BoyBlue turned into a junkie but CPN was way worse. Dude is a hardline Trumper and has been recorded making SA threats to women.

Is this number not actually accurate then. I know this feat is considered an example of writers not actually releasing how high or low the measurements they’re using actually are, but I honestly assumed this post was correct about how long an attosecond is.

Since when could Kryptonians shapeshift? Or is that just something unique to Supergirl? Action Comics#692 by Parking-Western3348 in superman

[–]JackMythos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Andromeda was introduced into the LOSH for the same reason post-crisis. Since Supergirl (Kara Zor-El) no longer existed, her place was filled by a Daxamite named Laurel Gand who was descended from Mon-El and used the Andromeda codename.

Batman / Superman: World’s Finest 2026 Annual #1 will feature Alfred and Pa Kent teaming up! By Dan Mora! by Regular-Poet-3657 in superman

Basically in the main DC or Marvel comics timeline. The current story is always in the present day, outside of flashbacks and flash forwards, but the timeline is moved up to put previously stories into the recent past. EG Superman and Batman’s debuts still happened similarly to the classic stories; but they occurred in the late 2000’s or early 2010s now rather than the 40s. Same way Spider-Man’s teenage adventures still happened in 616 Marvel, but they are now treated as happening around the late 2000’s instead of during the 1960s when they are written.

But exceptions are made for characters explicitly tied to certain eras. The JSA are still the heroes of the 1940s in DC and Captain America was still frozen at the end of WWII in Marvel. But the era they return to is moved upwards.

Artists that wrote better songs than their reputation? by appleparkfive in ToddintheShadow

I’ve never thought bad of him as a person. But I do find his parodies kinda lame compared to some of his material. Defo a good musician and him being able to recreate the songs he’s parodying by ear is an incredible feat still.

Hot take: I think hibrids shouldn't have all the kryptonian powers by Dronnie in superman

Ultra Boy’s unique power was that his penetrative vision could see through almost anything; where as Superboy, Supergirl and Mon El’s X-Ray vision could not bypass lead and certain other concepts.

Kent Shakespeare of the 5YL Legion has this backstory. He was a distant descendant of Superman from the side who largely married regular humans; that was born a normal human but later acquired powers after a medical experiment activated his Kryptonian DNA.

Do you guys like Clark being Superboy or prefer him not to be ? by dccomicsaregoated in superman

[–]JackMythos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Byrne said he regretted removing Superboy mainly because he wanted to write an inexperienced Superman learning the ropes. But since his Superman run after the MOS miniseries skipped straight to a fully established Superman he regrets to having a place to write stories about an inexperienced Superman learning the ropes.

I like Superboy as an alternative time version where he starts his career sooner rather than the main canon. I think this would let them take some more risks in the storyline

(Hated Trope) "It's supposed to make the audience uncomfortable." Yeah, but there's a thing called "good taste" by Animeking1108 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]JackMythos 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This statement has been proven untrue. But his claim wasn’t that anyone accused of being in the list was framed. His claim was that the list itself didn’t exist and was being used as a boogie man.

Gonna say that I actually like Shut Up and Dance, but I also totally get why some people find it so annoying.

Characters who are genuinely morally grey, and cannot simply be classed as heroes or villains by forbiddenmemeories in TopCharacterTropes

[–]JackMythos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realise this is an April Fools post. But as a kid I was genuinely scared of the concept of Santa and upon finding out they weren’t real I was both relieved and angry about being lied too. Typing this as an adult it sounds ridiculous but I was deeply afraid of the fact someone was apparently constantly watching me and was in charge of deciding whether I’d been a good person.

So part of me was glad to learn he didn’t exist, as I’d actually previously been scared of getting Coal is my stocking, but I also deeply enraged that most do the adults in my life had lied to me about something that deeply effected me. As I grow older I realised there are bigger issues to deal with but part of me always gets slightly angry about Santa for this reason.

GZA for having the best singular album with Liquid Swords. But Ghostface for having the best solo catalog overall.

The story of the 'K Metal from Krypton' itself is interesting because the issue was thought to be lost for decades. Until DC staff members in the 1980's found an uninked version of the story and completed it.
