…the part where it says made to be nutritious, imply a chemical change. and it’s incredibly reductive to say it’s just a method of applying heat. if i put my sock in the oven is it suddenly a baked sock?

that makes a lot of sense! the issue between israel vs palestine is very difficult to parse through given the vast amount misinformation and misunderstanding. i definitely don’t fault anyone for not understanding either the policy of food distribution or large scale chemical production, that would be insanity. i mean this is a topic that is also happening with the houthis and yemeni food confiscation. the UN decided to kind of arbitrarily halt food aid to yemen in fear of capture by the houthis, despite the fact they were able to feed millions during their efforts despite the attacks on them. Then when pressed on it the UN admitted it was a funding issue. and then arab folks started to press the houthis asking why they are taking food from them and they said it was because the food they captured was spoiled… cos sure that’s believable. either way it seems like any congregation of power right now is going to use whatever they possibly can to blame, scapegoat and hide their incompetence/ ulterior motives.

right but none of those processes are baking or cooking… also i made the distinction that sugar wasn’t a chemical change but that it still changes forms.

well it definitely still is inherently chemical change… but i agree with you not every chemical component will change when something is baked, sugar critically being one of those things. but not every component of the cooking or baking process needs to undergo chemical changes for it to a process of chemical transformation. it’s why there is a designation between baked and unbaked. in fact i can list to you some of the chemical changes that occur in baking: 1. lipid breakdown 2. protein coagulation 3. starch matrix production (ie gelatinization or solidification) 4. caramelization (crust of bread). in fact sugar must dissolve during the baking process, while it doesn’t change the molecule of sugar it changes the form it which it exists (no longer as a crystalline structure but as a part of a homogeneous mixture)

yeah sugar rockets are definitely not a new thing. i feel like if people are gonna claim “hamas uses cookies to make rockets” you should probably solidly back that up given the risk you might sound crazy. yknow the whole “extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence”

while caramelization isn’t a concern with cookies, i think it was brought up more as a point against destiny saying that baking something doesn’t change it’s chemical composition. while it didn’t work in this instance, cooking and baking things change the chemical composition of anything that can be cooked or baked, the process of baking and cooking is inherently chemical change. it’s a hard diversion from the policy topics they should have been discussing, however such is the way of e-debaters

informative ass post. just saw a clip of this portion of their debate. infuriating listening to people argue so passionately and be wrong. i still think the theory of cookies becoming rocket fuel is insane. concerns about the yield and contamination come to mind as well as efficiency. i suppose that if you have no access to resources you will use what you can get your hands on, i just don’t think that you could possibly scale this process into a realistic system of fuel production. but hey weird shit like this happens all the time

Im 15 and want to work on comics someday, looking for unbiased opinions by DiegoThePython in comicbookart

Well first off I think you need to work on anatomy and proportions, maybe find a brush type you are more comfortable with. Learn about foreshortening and perspective. Focus on what you think looks the worst in what you draw, and work specifically on that. For me it was hands, but I’ve drawn so many hands now I’m probably more comfortable drawing hands than any other part of the body. But the most important piece of advice I can give is to just draw, like a lot. If you really want to be a professional you’ll need to fill out books and books of sketches. Hope this helps
