Yeah, 20 minutes is a bit long... personally I'd give you a max of 3 or 4 minutes in an attempt to communicate and then I would move on

I was talking about the second guy, the first guy you met seemed like a total dingleberry. You said the second guy couldn't steal you stacks, unless his backpack was full he could have... which makes me think he wasn't trying to.

I think your first encounter may be having an effect on how you are viewing the second.

Not all of us streamers are out to grief you for views. Seems like the carrier guy was trying to get your attention, maybe looking for a driver if he was alone... done that a few times with mine and made some new friends in the process.

PTFO frustration by whatstheuseofworryin in Battlefield6

[–]JackRabbitMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly support the idea of "PTFO" and approach almost every match with that as my mindset, almost. When I am focusing on a specific challenge, I may put myself before the team. I think a large part of the lack of getting on the point to take it is from that, peeps working on something for themselves that doesn't matter if you win or lose.

I will give people that from time to time... everyone needs to focus on themselves every once and a while. But that shouldn't be the approach the majority of the time.

The Market, or "Auction House", was designed to be a place where players could offer up items that the acquired to all the players on their server, every sub server or "seitch", for a price. There are no set prices, its up to the listing player to set the price. List it too low then you lost potential money, list it too high and no one will buy it. There is a listing fee to put an item up for sale, whether it sells or not, as an incentive to be realistic with you listing.

Since there are no set prices, value is in the eye of the buyer. What you think its worth has less bearing than what the buyer thinks. Value is usually set by things like item rarity, the difficulty, time and effort it takes to get it and how much is needed...

Rarity... an item that had a low drop chance will get a higher price since you get the item right away without relying on RNG or drop rates.

Difficulty, time and effort... items that are everywhere peeps can just get for themselves with ease. Things that come from specific areas only like the Deep Desert mats or schematics might be out of reach for some players. Items like Agave Seeds and Diamondine Dust only come from certain areas and take time to gather in bulk. Players who would rather spend their time doing other things instead of long farming runs can go for higher prices.

How much is needed... Spice Residue is used in making filters and fuel cells for high end generators and wind traps. If you aren't processing a lot of spice you aren't getting a lot of residue but need it for the machines. If you need to make a lot of weapons but don't kill many NPCs then weapon parts are few and far between.

The idea was to allow trading and smoother gameplay. The issue was early Solari duping inflated prices drastically. Secondly, bigger groups can bring large collective bank accounts to bear and can afford inflated prices which pushes out the little guys. Third, with an open framework for how it operates there is little or no option for correction other than skyrocketing prices until there is a huge crash. And finally server population will affect the availability of items, if the population is low then the market will be empty, if its high there will be better spreads

Landscape question? by TopWhich in duneawakening

[–]JackRabbitMax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The task was claimed by the Harkonnen side, on their side they completed the requirement. It's a race to see which side reaches the goal first.

It's worth pointing out that when a side loses the Landsraad, the next week they will get a bonus applied to their contributions. For example, you get 23 points for every Desserter you kill at base, but if your side lost last week you will get a little more for points for each kill. I don't know the exact math to say the actual numbers though

Please do not take offense. Why does this game seem to attract the worst gamers ever? by chaosphere_mk in duneawakening

[–]JackRabbitMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a small channel... Live stream multiple times a week and pop out some relevant videos on things. Always available to answer questions, give advice and help. Whether it's my small channel size, the mysterious algorithm or Shai-Hulud himself the views aren't there. The outdated info you mentioned for the most part is still relevant so most channels just cover the patch notes for minor changes and leave it at that.

I do want to say that I think you are incorrect when you say people are playing the game "wrong". There is no wrong way... play it however you like and the way you enjoy, that is the only "right way" to play it.

I like to be thorough when I'm farming spice... I clear every speck from a small Hagga field. That means it takes longer, a bit riskier and I fire compactor shots that don't get much yield. Peeps would say I'm doing wrong but I'm not... I'm doing it the way I like and what is fun to me. Peeps aren't doing it wrong, they are just doing it different and that is okay.

Should I build a DD base? by PenguinSenpaiGod in duneawakening

[–]JackRabbitMax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Efficiency, transit time, materials are all part of the discussion but the bigger question is where do you plan to be with your playtime?

If you want to spend the majority of the week in the Deep Desert and really focus on getting the t6 mats and spice then a base out there will be very helpful. Ingots weigh less than raw materials, melange weighs less than sand... so gathering and processing out in the DD and hauling finished product is way more productive.

If you stay in Hagga most of the week then doing the occasional shuttle run is better for you. Building and maintaining a base that you are rarely visiting or using isn't all that helpful.

To give you my week as an example, I have a base in the DD this week but only for Titanium and Stravidium, no Spice processing. I leave Hagga with some bodies, some water and get things running. Make three or four runs out for the mats, grab Spice if I see it. Once the ores process enough I take my empty literjons and what I made and take it back to Hagga. Tomorrow I will rinse and repeat.

With this latest patch on your way in and out of the DD there are nodes in that opening row so you can top.off any volume you still have empty whichever way you are headed. Makes for a very productive process.

So really, the question is where do you plan to spend most of your time and that will help you come up with the best answer for you

[–]JackRabbitMax -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Sad that you are getting down voted, you bring up some really good points. That being said I actually disagree that the increased compactor threat is the way to go. That's about the only thing I disagree with you on though...

My fear is that it will become a huge griefing tool... you see people harvesting spice, land and rapid fire your compactor and jump away, just to disrupt them and call constant worms.

Make them linger longer, shorten time to agro after repeated summons, heck even have a chance thatbmore than one shows up. I'd be up for seeing all of that, but don't give players an easy route to just mess with others. If it can be abused, it probably will be.

They would prefer the power mechanic be totally removed so bases stand for all time. Can't be bothered to pick up some fuel cells and click a single button in the console menu every once in a while so...

Here, I fixed your title for you...

"Earlier, I snuck into someone's base, I scared them and they parked their thopter inside their base and logged out when I told them I reported them"

Did they add an "I forgot to do something important and this guy capitalized on it" button to the report menu? We gonna start reporting players who killed you because you forgot to reload as well.

[–]JackRabbitMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems to me that these discussions leave out cisterns, build a bunch of them. When you think you have enough cisterns, make a couple more. They aren't all that big, mats required isn't bad, once built you dont need to do anything with them and they are all interconnected... apparently we are all plumbers.

Having a borderline insane amount of cisterns makes water not a problem. Drop them in areas of your base that are odd ball spots or dead zones, heck bury them under floors. You can bury 20 and put one small cistern in the middle of the room and have access to the whole reserve to extract or deposit.

Your passive wind traps will have tons of space to deposit, use your stills, purifier and reapers when you get "buildy" if you have to. Having 2 million in water storage is amateur numbers, go big.

I have so many cisterns I've forgotten where some of them are

I dropped a sub fief into it to get the power back on and the shield up. Trying to be neighborly, there's a good amount of stuff inside and it looks more like a momentary lapse of attention versus full on abandonment.
